Alex Colon is a 2017 RHP/3B with a 6-2 179 lb. frame from Brunswick, GA who attends Glynn Academy. Tall and slender athletic build, broad shoulders, projects well physically. Works from the stretch, high 3/4's arm slot with some upper body lean through release, creates good angle to the plate, some effort on release. Fastball topped out at 83 mph, gets the ball down in the zone well with good heavy life, can work both sides of the plate, has an idea how to spot his fastball. Showed nice feel for his curveball, tight spin with very good 11/5 depth at times. Has command of two solid pitches and should continue to improve. Right handed hitter, keeps hands tight and has a short line drive swing, good feel for the barrel and works the middle of the field. Good student.
