Drew Hurst is a 2016 RHP/SS with a 6-0 171 lb. frame from Tupelo, MS who attends Tupelo Christian Prep. Quick-twitch athletic frame with wiry strength and plenty of athleticism. Ran very well, posting a 6.75 60 yard dash time. Primary pitcher, showed short/compact arm action with good arm speed, creates some deception and ball is tough to pick up out of his hand. FB worked 79-85 and touched 85, thrown from three quarters slot and has some slight sinking life. Flashed quality feel for fading, sinking changeup; also showed good ability to spin curveball and get depth on pitch. Hits with narrow base and slightly open stance, hands set tight to body, bars hands in load, quick hands with line drive plane and approach to all fields. Showed solid actions defensively, showing quick release with accuracy after fielding cleanly. IF velocity up to 78 MPH. Named to 2015 Southeast Underclass Showcase Top Prospect List. Very good student.
