Cole Gilbert is a 2018 OF/MIF, RHP with a 5-8 145 lb. frame from Chesapeake, VA who attends Greenbrier Christian Academy. Younger player with a lean, slender build, athleticism, and room to continue to fill out physically and add strength. Posted a 7.00 time in the 60 yard dash. Primary outfielder, showed a short arm action, extended release, fielded out front, with developing arm strength up to 82 mph. At the plate, started with an open stance, medium base, high hand set, high back elbow, and a quick toe tap timing mechanism. Developing bat speed and attempts to create leverage. Hips work to the ball with a linear swing plane. Will continue to improve with additional lower half incorporation and strength.
