Casey O'Sullivan is a 2017 RHP/2B with a 6-1 170 lb. frame from Spring Valley, CA who attends Valhalla HS. Large frame with a lean, athletic build. Projects for additional size with strength. Right handed pitcher with a smooth tempo delivery. Medium arm cirlce back at separation and release from a high three-quarters arm slot. Shows a quick arm action through extension while baseball comes out of hand cleanly. Fastball has some downward angle ranging in the upper 80's, topped at 89 mph. Curveball has 11/5 shape with tight spin and good depth. Maintains quick arm speed on a changeup in the low 80's. Good command of the edges of the plate with all three pitches. Changed speeds well effectively keeping hitters off balance. Left handed hitter with a tall, open stance and high back elbow set. Creates some shift into contact with rotational lower half actions. Smooth hands through extension with a slightly lofted swing path. Swings with intent and present bat speed producing loud contact throughout batting practice. Good student as well. Named to 2016 Sunshine West Top Prospect List.
