Lance Johnson is a 2016 RHP/SS with a 6-0 155 lb. frame from Alabaster, AL who attends Thompson HS. Slender young broad shouldered build, lots of room to get stronger. Multi-part cross body delivery, has some energy at release, will throw from standard 3/4's slot or low 3/4's slot with intent. Has better velocity from higher angle, up to 85 mph but mostly straight, up to 82 mph with much better life from lower slot. Nice fading change up from lower slot, goes with split finger from higher slot. Short breaking curveball. Works both sides of the plate and mixes and varies the look. Best stuff is from lower slot at present. Interesting combination of skills and talent on the mound, should continue to improve as he gets stronger. Good student. Named to the Showcase Top Prospect Team.
