Kenneth Hartzfeld is a 2016 RHP/MIF with a 6-0 170 lb. frame from Marietta, GA who attends The Westminster Schools. Medium frame, slender athletic build with some room to add strength. Long limbs and levers, has some deception in delivery. Side step into windup with hip turn at apex of lift, has slight pause and later hand separation. Works to a 3/4's arm slot, uses a medium-compact arm-action. Solid armspeed, could use lower-half a bit more in mechanics, still worked fastball up to 83 mph. Fastball has slight cut-action, and is quality pitch down in the zone. Slider has sweeping action and horizontal slice. Also flashes slower curveball with more depth and 11/4 break. At times will drop down to a sidearm slot and present hitters a different look, velocity dips a bit but shows more movement and slider has sweeping break. Also plays infield, has a strong arm across the diamond, surrounds the ball well. Right handed hitter, open stance, gets closed with stride. Upper-half rotational swing, maintains solid balance. Fluid swing, extended hand path, some loft off the barrel. Excellent student.
