2005 Unsigned Seniors Showcase
White is a 5-10 left handed pitcher from Alabama with a solid, mature body. We’re told that White went to a small Alabama high school and ranks very high on the all-time Alabama prep strikeout list. After watching him strike out 8 out of 10 hitters at the showcase, we can believe that. White has a fast paced delivery and a high ¾’s release point with a quick arm and his delivery is deceptive to the hitters. White topped out at 84 mph on his fastball with some occasional cutting action, especially inside to right handers. His out pitch was a 69-70 mph curveball that had tight spin and a sharp, late break. White painted with this pitch and pretty much overmatched the hitters. He also mixed in a 74 mph change up that he lowers his release point on. There’s no question that being left handed and with his present stuff that White can pitch at the highest levels of college baseball. His curveball and pitching savvy will get hitters out. This is a very good DI lefty who knows what he's doing.
