PG Grade: 7.5
Tyler Ray is a 2006 outfielder from Mission Viejo High School in California with a 5'10", 185 lb. frame. He has broad, strong shoulders and an overall athletic body with strong thighs and has a chance to be a more physical player down the road. Offensively he hits from a wide base with an erect elbow which tends to make him get a lot of lift to the baseball and a little long in the back side before contact. Ray has some good speed, 4.28 down the line, and if he can get on top of the ball at contact he should be able to take advantage of his quickness. Ray is an aggressive defender with good footwork in the field and balance through his release. Overall he shows promise to get stronger and add to his present speed. He should improve and play at the next level and hit in the early portion of the line up. He is also a good student.
