We always enjoy watching High pitch and play, as we get to frequently during the summer. He’s one of the better “game” pitchers around and has an advanced knowledge of how to get hitters out. High throws from a somewhat unconventional high ¾’s delivery with a raised pause in back but his arm works cleanly and he repeats his arm stroke well. The overall effect is very deceptive to hitters. His best pitch is a power 73-76 curveball that has sharp two-plane break to it and gets many hitters to chase outside the zone. High’s fastball was in the 85-88 mph range and is an effective set up pitch for his curveball. At 6-2, 175, High should be able to add some strength and velocity as he matures. Travis is also a good hitter and an excellent athlete. The higher academic institutions will like his 4.5 GPA and 1370 SAT.
