Joseph Perez is a 2013 RHP with a 6-1 160 lb. frame from Kansas City, MO who attends Liberty North HS. Lean and slender build, young look. Leg raise delivery, lays his arm back, long flat arm action, mid 3/4's arm slot, lands open. Steady 76-78 mph fastball, early big fastball running action, shows good feel for change up with similar action, tends to get under curveball for flat sweeping break. Pounds the strike zone with all pitches, works ahead and makes hitters swing the bat. Should continue to improve velocity with added strength. Right handed hitter, simple line drive swing approach, spray contact. Good student.
