T.J. Forrest is a 2006 right handed pitcher from Benton, LA with a tall lean build at 6-5, 175 lbs. He has a controlled delivery with a high leg kick, good balance and low effort arm action. He does pull off his head some on release. Forrest's fastball topped out at 90 mph with good life. He threw his curveball between 67 and 70 mph with a slurve type break at the higher velocities that had better action and bite than his softer curveball. Forrest is just beginning to grow into his body and could be just scratching the surface of his potential. Pro scouts will be waiting around anxiously to see when Forrest starts coming on, just as they did with some other projectable high school pitchers in Louisiana last year. Forrest has signed to go to LSU.
