Carson Sands is a 2014 LHP/1B with a 6-3 205 lb. frame from Tallahassee, FL who attends North Florida Christian HS. Well proportioned athletic build, very good present strength. High leg raise delivery, long arm action, hides the ball well in back, high 3/4's arm slot and works downhill, arm works smoothly. Fastball topped out at 92 mph, mostly straight but gets on hitters quickly, can elevate fastball up in the zone with some hop to it. Hard curveball spin with good 1/7 shape and depth, can spot curveball early in counts and pitch backwards if desired. Change up has big arm side movement and fade. Very solid three pitch mix and the ability to use them. Should keep improving with repetitions and experience. Good student, verbal commitment to Florida State.
