Grant Schneider is a 2014 RHP/1B with a 6-3 195 lb. frame from Austin, TX who attends Lake Travis HS. Tall athletic build, good frame to add strength to. Busy delivery with energy, lots of moving parts, long arm action, high 3/4's arm slot with big downhill angle to the plate, early hook in back but works through it, arm works well. Upper 80's fastball, topped out at 90 mph, heavy life on fastball in addition to angle, works middle down with fastball and will be a ground ball pitcher. Slider flashes bite and depth but not consistent with release yet, solid change at times as well, soft curveball is a get me over pitch for strikes. Has potential with off speed pitches with more consistency. Very projectable arm and body if he can tone down and control delivery. Good student, verbal commitment to Arizona State.
