Lucas is a 5-11 junior third baseman from Florida with very good and well balanced strength on his mature frame. He ran the 60 in 7.36 and has good actions and feet on defense at third base. Lucas threw 72 mph across the infield and hopefully can develop his arm strength a bit further. We think this young prospect is going to hit and hit well at the next level. Lucas has a very calm and balanced approach at the plate with good hand action and rhythm through the ball. He keeps his strong hands inside and behind the ball very well and shows nice power to right centerfield. Lucas made very consistent solid contact throughout the showcase and looked like he was in control at the plate. College coaches should be on Lucas, especially if they want a player who can step in as a freshman. He is a good student.
