John Boland is a 2011 OF/1B/3B with a 6-2 175 lb. frame from Rhinebeck, NY who attends Avon Old Farms HS. Lean athletic frame, plenty of room to add more strength. Versatile player, 6.90 runner, covers lots of ground in the outfield, good arm strength, quick release at 3B, good quick feet, smooth actions at 1B. Right handed hitter, squared stance, deep load, aggressive swing with some effort, looks to pull, raw mechanics but generates nice bat speed, ball jumps off the bat, potential to develop as a hitter. Nice overall talent. good student.
