2005 World Showcase
Patrick Scardino is a 2005 right handed pitcher/first baseman from Richmond, California, with a mature 6'1", 180 lb. frame. Scardino throws from a 3/4 arm slot with an on line stride. He uses a slight drop and drive delivery, and will run his fastball in on the hands of right handed hitters breaking some wood bats. His fastball topped out at 81 mph, and he works it in and out well showing some very good pitchability. Scardino has more of a slider type breaking ball with late darting action. Scardino had to cut his outing short when he dislocated his thumb. He is a pitcher that knows his tools and uses the life on his fastball to get outs. Patrick is a very good student who can pitch at a high level.
