PG Grade: 8
Mike is a 2006 grad from Irvine, California and has a strong athletic large frame and build. Has good speed for such a big kid and can only improve as he gets stronger. Mike showed good bat control and some raw power at the plate. His swing and hand path is such that he hit everything to the opposite field today and looked like he was trying to stay inside the ball. Mike is big and strong enough that he should be able to turn on the ball as well. Mike showed very well defensively at first base and his physical tools profile well in the outfield, too. He is light on his feet, has good quickness and soft hands. Mike's head is in the game and he anticipates contact while on defense. It will be interesting to see how Mike develops his swing and his approach at the plate. He could come on very fast with his natural strength and athletic ability. He is also a strong student.
