2005 Unsigned Seniors Showcase
Cola is a 5-10 primary right handed pitcher from Puerto Rico with a thick, muscular build. He throws with a low effort delivery that he repeats very well, which enables him to throw consistent strikes. Cola doesn’t get over his front leg and will spin off to the first base side but this doesn’t seem to affect his command. His best pitch was a 62-65 mph curveball that had a good 2-plane downward break and consistent spin. Cola could throw this pitch for a strike whenever he wanted to. His fastball was in the 75-77 mph range for three innings. He also mixed in an occasional change up but used his curveball as his primary off speed.
