Harughty is a shortstop who showed one of the best all around weekends in Waco. He has a good looking 6 foot and 165 pound frame and showed nice body control. He runs well, showed a good arm and hard hitting line drive ability. His actions are easy and appear to come natural for him. He hit well in Batting Practice taking a short path down on the ball and hit through the ball with a fluid motion, even against tough pitching. As just a 2005 grad he has a good window for improving his strength and if that happens we think it will apply well to his already impressive baseball actions. On the mound he threw with mostly 81-83 mph velocity and showed a good curveball. He can contribute on the hill, but with his nice swing and hitting ability it will likely keep him in the infield. Watch him, he is a good player ! He could develop into something very special.
