Marcus Heemstra is a HS right handed pitcher with a 6-9, 200 frame from Rock Valley, IA who attends Rock Valley HS. XXL tall and slender build. Basketball scholarship to South Dakota State, obvious well coordinated athletic actions on the mound. Simple back turn delivery, stays on line and balanced well. Varies release points, especially on CB, sometimes down to low 3/4's, needs more consistency. FB 86-88 mph, lots of 88's late, arm works smooth and easy out front, aggressive with FB in strike zone. CB had flat slurve type break usually from lower release points. Would benefit from more downhill angle. Interesting arm and athlete, hope he plays both sports at SDSt.
