Sawyer Smith is a 2010 C/IF/RHP with a 6'3'', 205 lb. frame from Dexter, MO who attends Dexter HS. Strong, athletic body with wide shoulders. Very balanced setup behind plate, soft hands, receives well, good fundamentals, sticks pitches well, solid arm, quick transfer, plus footwork, good arm. Slightly open stance, hands back load, lots of moving parts before swing, quick hands, flat swing, long through zone, has batspeed, power projection. Committed to Palm Beach Atlantic. Really looks the part and could be a sleeper in the draft either this year or later.
