PG Grade: 9
Jonathan Turner is a big strong 6'5/209 RHP from Winter Haven, FL. He threw 87 mph fastballs in Tropicana Field and it's obvious he can and will throw harder. He has room to get bigger and stronger yet and his arm works loose and easy. He throws out of a high leg kick delivery and gets good extension at release. His CB shows good spin and could become a MLB average pitch down the road. Likewise for his changeup. He also showed what appeared to be an interesting splitty at the changeup speed. He projects large and can pitch at the highest levels. Jonathan is an excellent student.
