John Allen Conway -- Conway is a physically strong and mature junior hitter from North Carolina. He has a very athletic running back type body with solid strength throughout. Conway put on a show with the bat in game situations. He has a short, compact swing with very good bat speed and very solid contact. Conway went 5-7 in games with 2 doubles and a triple, showing both some power potential and the ability to keep his hands in and short to the ball. There isn’t much question in our scout’s minds that this young man is going to hit at the next level. Conway appears to run better than his 7.30 60 time, which was run on a very slow spongy track. He's probably a MLB average runner. He could end up at either SS, third or second base at the next level. Good hands and feet. Nice actions and plenty of arm. John Allen is a good student and a good prospect for the "05" class.
