Matt Robin is a 2009 LHP/1B with a 5'10'', 157 lb. frame from Buffalo Grove, IL who attends Stevenson HS. He has a medium frame and a young build. Robin throws from an extended 3/4's release point with a simple turn and throw delivery and some late energy to the plate. He has good arm speed and the ball comes out of his hand pretty easily. Robin's fastball topped out at 82 mph and it looks like there is more there in the future as he gets stronger. He threw both a curveball and a slider and the curveball was a much better pitch at this point, with a big and sharp break at times. The slider had a smaller cutter type of break. He also mixed in a couple of change ups. Robin is a young pitcher with the makings of a couple of good pitches and some projection. He should keep improving. Robin is also a good student.
