Weston Montgomery is a 2008 SS/2B with a 6'1'', 160 lb. frame from Ennis, TX who attends Ennis. Weston has very athletic body with a lean build. He is a tremendous overall athlete and has smooth actions all over the field. He ran an impressive 6.81 sixty, and ran with no effort. His speed translates well to the bases, and he does a good job of using it to his advantage. He is very smooth defensively with plus footwork, plus range, and a very solid exchange. He does a really good job getting the ball out of his glove and away. He has soft hands and a strong arm topping at 84 on his infield velocity. Offensively he has a short and compact swing and he stays on the ball. He hits from a slightly open stance and starts his hands low. He makes good contact and has a quick bat. Weston is a very projectable player with tools, and was rated as a top prospect for the showcase. He is also a very good student.
