2024 14U National Showcase
Francis Conners-Schmid is a 2028 OF/LHP, 1B with a 6-0 200 lb. frame from East Chatham, NY who attends Chatham. Tall, physical frame with well-proportioned strength throughout the frame. Left-handed hitter, medium base with a high back elbow in the stance, stride out into contact with some loud results. High end combination of bat speed and strength, over the fence power to the pull-side that he gets into often. Sprayed lasers into both gaps and the strength stands out, recorded an exit velocity of 104 mph. Ran a 7.32 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, works directly to and through the baseball with urgency, long exchange and arm swing to a higher release point. Solid arm strength with more coming, recorded accurate throws up to 84 mph. Secondary left-handed pitcher, stretch only delivery, mid chest leg lift, loose arm in the back to a lower three-quarters slot. Fastball got up to 80 mph (1867 RPM) and sat in the upper-70s. Spun a bigger 1-7 shaped curveball to round out mix, up to 67 mph (2117 RPM). Also worked out at first base and showed solid footwork with bounce to the movements and fed the double play well. Has defensive versatility with big left-handed power traits. Named to 2024 14u PG Select Festival.
