Matt Nettles is a 2010 OF/LHP with a 5'11'', 160 lb. frame from Byron, GA who attends Peach County HS. He has a slender, young build with some strength potential. Nettles showed athletic actions in the outfield, with very good arm strength for his age, although he put a lot of effort into his throws. Nettles is a left handed hitter with a standard pull back load and a slightly open stance. He takes a full, aggressive swing at the ball and has some bat speed and hand quickness. His swing tends to be long and his best contact was to left centerfield. It looks like he has the hands/quickness to shorten up his swing with some mechanical adjustments. Nettles aggressive nature is a plus and will benefit him as he smooths out his hitting and fielding mechanics. He's listed as a secondary pitcher and it would be interesting to see him on the mound, too.
