Nick Carmichael is a 2008 RHP with a 6'5'', 215 lb. frame from San Diego, CA, who attends Rancho Bernardo HS. Carmichael has a nice, extra large frame with long limbs and projectability. On the mound he throws from a 3/4 arm slot with a long arm circle on the back side. He has a smooth delivery with a high leg kick, and he stays balanced throughout. Carmichael gets arm side run on his fastball that topped out at 80 mph, while working from 77-80 mph. He throws downhill with extension out front. He has the ability to spin his curveball with an 11/5 break. He should throw harder in the future as well. At the plate he is a right handed hitter who hits from an average base. He gets leverage at the point of contact that helps produce raw power. He has a nice swing, and has the ability to hit to all fields. Carmichael is an excellent student as well.
