Nick Woodward is a 2008 RHP/OF with a 6'2'', 175 lb. frame from Sunland, CA, who attends Verdugo Hills High School. Woodward has a lean and projectable frame. On the mound he throws from a 3/4 arm slot with medium arm speed. There is minimal effort in his delivery, and he goes after the hitters. He gets tailing actions on his fastball with sink at 80 mph. Woodward works both sides of the plate, and he throws strikes. He is a ground ball pitcher who pitches off his fastball. Woodward also mixes in a 63 mph curve ball, and a 67 mph split with sinking action. He did not allow a hit in 3 innings of work. At the plate he is a right handed hitter who hits from an upright and slightly open stance with a high back elbow. Woodward is a good student as well.
