Owen Nolte is a 2029 LHP/OF with a 5-10 172 lb. frame from Mattoon, IL who attends Mattoon. Medium young build with lots of time and room to get stronger. Works from a cross fire delivery that creates angle to the plate, hides the ball well and has plenty of deception, repeats his mechanics well, has energy coming down the slope. Fastball topped out at 78 mph with big cutting action at times. Slider had some sweeping depth to it, also showed some developing feel for his change up. Was poised on the mound and threw strikes while sequencing well. Left handed hitter, sets up in an open stance with a toe tap timer, busy hands in his load with some drift into contact, swings hard and has some raw bat speed, uses his lower half well, mostly pull side contact. 7.14 runner in the sixty. Secondary outfielder on defense, works through the ball well with clean athletic actions, made accurate low throws with some carry. Just a matter of getting stronger to improve in all areas. Excellent student. Named to the PG National Indoor Showcase Top Prospect List.
