Gage Maddox is a 2024 OF/RHP with a 6-3 175 lb. frame from Kansas City, MO who attends Staley. Tall, athletic and projectable frame. Ran well with a 6.57 60-yard dash. A primary outfielder with a quick first step, range in the outfield, had athletic momentum and fundamental footwork to the baseball, fields the ball off the the side, chops steps on transition to throw and shows above average arm strength with with accuracy to bases. A left handed hitter at the plate with a slightly open stance and toe tap timing. Showed above average hand speed and and acceleration through the zone with back side rotation. When on time the swing is in sync with very little wasted movement. Vertical bat path through the zone with barrel accuracy that he showed in BP and in games collecting multiple extra base hits. On the mound showed athletic pitching movements with a three-quarter arm slot. Creates some separation in his delivery. Fastball was in the low 80's with some arm side run, and showed two distinct breaking balls as well. A curve with 11-5 shape, and a slider with some horizontal break. Solid average strike throwing ability with all three pitches and plenty of upside to tap into on the mound. True two-way prospect. Named to Sunshine Midwest Top Prospect List.
