Wier-O’Conner is a tall and well built 6-3, 200 lb outfielder/first baseman from New York. He ran the 60 in 7.59 on the wet track and threw 80 mph from the outfield during workouts with a long, loose arm action. He best profiles to a corner position. Wier-O’Conner hits from a no stride/no load approach at the plate with little rhythm through the ball. He has an upper cut swing that generates some good bat speed through his natural strength and he showed the ability to power the ball into the gaps. Wier-O’Conner has some good quickness in his hands. He has lots of room to improve as a hitter at the next level with his natural ability and power. He is also a very good student. Keep an eye on him.
