2005 Unsigned Seniors Showcase
Proctor is a 5-11, 200 lb catcher from North Carolina with well distributed strength throughout his frame and good overall athletic ability. In fact, Proctor ran a 6.97 on the wet track and showed very good speed on the bases during the games and could undoubtedly play many other positions athletically if given the opportunity. Proctor showed good arm strength in workouts at 76 mph with a best pop time of 1.92 and his athleticism and quickness add to his defensive skills. Offensively, Proctor hits out of a no load, no stride approach with good bat speed and quickness. He hits to all fields and consistently hit the ball hard with a short, compact swing. He had 3 hits one game, including two triples that showed his extra base power and speed. Proctor also pitched a couple of innings, showing an 81-82 mph fastball from a short, catcher’s type arm stroke, along with a low 60’s curveball. Overall, Proctor is a nice college level prospect whose tools and athleticism play very well at the Division I level. He could have a pro future.
