If Mariotti has not signed with a school by the time college coaches read this. Here's a gem! He doesn't have your prototypical pro draft pick RHP body at 6'0/220. What he does have is your pro draft pick stuff including MLB average velocity. He threw his fastballs 88 to 90 in Ft Myers. His breaking ball was a sharp tight one at 76. He also showed a nice changeup. Very good command of all pitches, especially the heater. He has an excellent feel for the mound and his arm works very good and fast. He can pitch at most any college in America and contribute now. Not that it makes a lot of difference, but Mariotti can really hit too. Plus bat speed and some line drive power. If he were to end up at a lower level DI his bat should be utilized. This kid is very good. He was a giant surprise to us.
