Austin Junk is a 2028 C/1B/3B with a 5-11 190 lb. frame from Redondo Beach, CA who attends Loyola. Big durable build with strong legs. Primary catcher, sets up with one knee down. Online footwork that gains good ground to the target. Consistent transfer line and gets the ball out quick. Slight uphill release but good arm strength behind it. Accurate to the right side of the bag. 2.00 pop. Right-handed hitter, even base with tall and fall style mechanics. Engages a strong lower half to generate bat speed and strength. Can really accelerate the barrel and creates loud impacts in the air to the pull side. On the barrel plenty throughout the round. good showing for the Sophomore. 7.22 60-yard. Excellent student. Named to the Top Prospect list.
