Baron Martin is a 2027 RHP/OF/IF with a 5-11 175 lb. frame from Wentzville, MO who attends Christian Brothers College. Medium athletic build with some present strength to build on. Works from the stretch on the mound with a belt high leg raise and a long stride down the mound, clean arm action with a high 3/4's arm slot and good arm speed, repeats his mechanics and release point well. Fastball was in the low 80's and topped out at 84 mph with good carry up in the zone. Low 70's curveball showed good spin and some 11/5 sharpness. Flashed a change up in warm ups but didn't need it in the game. Threw lots of strikes and got quick outs. 7.33 runner in the sixty. Worked out both in the infield and outfield, has athleticism and good arm strength in both places with developing footwork and fundamentals, probably best as a corner outfielder on defense. Right handed hitter, sets up in a slightly spread stance with a short leg raise trigger, rotational swing with a hard turn, short to the ball and longer through it, some effort, got the barrel out front with mostly pull side contact. Good student.
