Eric Saavedra is a 2008 MIF with a 6'1'', 150 lb. frame from Miami FL, who attends Miami Christian. Saavedra has a slender body with a lean body. He has a young body with plenty of room to fill. Defensively, Saavedra stays low to ball and sets up well to field the baseball. He has good hands with a nice release across the infield. He has solid footwork with developing arm strength. At the plate, Saavedra starts with a slightly open stance and has a quiet approach in the box. He has a good swing and keeps the barrel on a line drive plane. Saavedra has a fundamentall sound swing and uses a slap hitter's approach when hitting the baseball. He has some projection and should develop his skills and tools as he fills out and gains strength. He had a sharp hit to right field in game off 89 mph, so it'll be interesting to see what he handles when he's a little stronger. Saavedra is an oustanding student.
