2018 Top Prospects

Levi Usher  OF - 2018 - Fairfax, IA
Louisville/Kirkwood CC

Usher, a Perfect Game All-American utilized a smooth, fluid swing plane that generated easy bat speed throughout the hitting zone. The Kirkwood CC commit shows incredible athleticism in his swing and will be a dangerous hitter atop the Eagles line up next year.

Duncan Davitt  RHP - 2018 - Indianola, IA
Iowa

The University of Iowa commit created heavy run with his fastball sitting in the upper 80's, topped at 90 miles per hour. Davitt effectively changed speed while on the mound showing the ability to locate a hard biting breaking ball and sinking changeup.

Nic McCay  RHP - 2018 - Carlisle, IA
South Dakota State

The South Dakota State commit commanded the zone with his fastball sitting between 86-90 miles per hour. McCay consistently attacked hitters early before utilizing a 12/6 curveball that flashed very sharp, late depth. The 2018 grad also showed off his potential as a two-way player at the plate. McCay consistently generated sharp, loud contact with the strength to split each gap.

Will Nigut  RHP - 2018 - Des Moines, IA
Akron/Kirkwood CC

The Kirkwood CC commit released from a high three-quarters arm slot producing good life with his fastball that topped at 88 miles per hour. Nigut shows very good command and feel for both an 11/5 curveball and a late fading changeup.

Austin Krob  LHP - 2018 - Lisbon, IA
TCU/Kirkwood CC

Krob, a Kirkwood CC commit, effectively worked to all parts of the zone while effectively establishing his fastball in the low to mid 80's, topped at 86 miles per hour. The 6-foot-2 lefty consistently worked to the out edge of the zone with a cutter that created very good deception out of hand.


2019 Top Prospects

Kyle Wisch  RHP - 2019 - Clarendon Hills, IL
Nebraska

Wisch effectively worked to the bottom quadrants of the strike zone with a fastball that sat between 87-90 miles per hour, topped at 91 miles per hour. The 6-foot-4 right handed pitcher shows promising swing and miss potential with a sharp curveball and short slider.

Nick Gottilla  LHP - 2019 - Davenport, IA
University of Central Florida

Gottilla employed an up tempo delivery that produced good jump on hitters with a fastball that topped at 86 miles per hour. The 2019 grad looked to work ahead early in counts with fastball before utilizing a tight spinning 1/7 curveball to induce weak contact.

Jakob Kouneski  C - 2019 - Minneapolis, MN
Missouri Baptist/NIACC

The Minneapolis, MN native showed balanced, repeatable actions from behind the plate popping 1.95. Kouneski's has the present strength to drive the gaps with ease while at the plate and utilized a naturally lifted barrel plane that generated tight back spin off the barrel.

Will Mabrey  LHP - 2019 - Cookeville, TN
Tennessee

The Tennessee native impressed on the mound as well as at the plate. The 5-foot-11 left hander created consistent swings and misses by establishing a fastball in the mid 80's before moving to a late sinking changeup later in counts. Offensively, Mabrey employed a smooth stroke with the barrel feel to work to all fields.

Rian Yates  RHP - 2019 - Oskaloosa, IA
Kirkwood CC

Yates stands at 6-foot-4 and shows plenty of room to continue to add strength in his frame. The 2019 grad worked to each edge of the plate and showed the ability to create cut and run with his fastball in the low to mid 80's, topped at 84 miles per hour. Yates changeup has very promising potential and consistently created weak contact with late sinking action.

Deven Jones  RHP - 2019 - Chicago, IL
Triton College

The Chicago native generated heavy downhill plane from a three-quarters arm slot in the mid 80's, topped at 85 miles per hour. Jones consistently worked to the bottom of the strike zone looking to generate weak, ground ball contact while on the mound.

Tyler Oberbroeckling  C - 2019 - Marion, IA
Southeastern CC

The 6-foot-1, 170-pound catcher showed good arm strength from behind the plate popping a 1.97. Offensively, the uncommitted prospect employed a naturally lifted barrel plane and showed good balance throughout his swing that allowed for all fields contact.


2020 Top Prospects

Rohan B Shah  OF - 2020 - Burr Ridge, IL
The Citadel

Shah has a very athletic frame that projects for continue strength. The 2020 grad displayed two-way potential on the mound and at the plate. While on the mound, Shah located his fastball effectively in the low to mid 80's and flashed good feel for an 11/5 curveball. Offensively, the Burr Ridge native consistently drove the baseball with authority showing very good jump off the barrel to the middle of the field.

Andrue Henry  1B - 2020 - Dubuque, IA
Kirkwood CC

Henry continues to show high level power while at the plate. The 2020 grad continues to improve his barrel control with each event and shows the plate discipline and maturity to be an elite level hitter in the future.

Clay Billadeau  C - 2020 - Naperville, IL
Uncommitted

The 2020 grad flashed good raw power at the plate with leverage to generate carry to each gap. Billadeau swung with intent and consistently produced loud contact in both batting practice and live game situations.

Shane Halligan  C - 2020 - Fort Dodge, IA
Uncommitted

The 5-foot-10. 160-pound catcher displayed good arm strength from behind the plate topping at 78 miles per hour. Halligan's throws produced accurate, on line carry to the bag with a clean release. At the plate, the Fort Dodge native creates good barrel whip by effectively throwing his bat head to contact.


2021 Top Prospects

Joey Spence  C - 2021 - West Bend, WI
Notre Dame

Spence displayed quick, repeatable actions defensive while releasing. At the plate, the 2021 grad utilized a smooth, fluid swing path. Spence shows excellent balance in his swing with the ability to work to all fields on a line consistently.
