2018 Top Prospects

Kenen Irizarry  SS - 2018 - Guanica, PR
Miami-Dade College

Irizarry showed an outstanding collection of tools highlighted by his arm strength that reached as high as 92 mph across the diamond; the defensive skill set is very advanced with excellent actions to complement very quick hands and feet. He is also a 6.91 runner with quality twitch and athleticism throughout that translates well to an offensive skill set.

Brant Brown  RHP - 2018 - Venice, FL
Eckerd College/Georgia Highlands

Brown had one of the most dominating performances of the event with a three-pitch mix and a fastball that sat in the upper-80s and topping out at 89 mph. He showed a loose and fast arm stroke with a power-mentality as he attacked hitters. Both offspeed pitches were impressive as the curveball and changeup gave him more weapons in his arsenal.

Kaeber Rog  SS - 2018 - Boca Raton, FL
Florida International

Rog turned in one of the top offensive weekends with exciting hitting tools on both sides of the plate. Already committed to Florida International, Rog has loud bat speed and hand quickness from both sides with good natural loft. The path is direct to contact and there is good explosiveness throughout the swing with intriguing power as well.

Matt Voda  LHP - 2018 - Spring Hill, FL
Cleveland State CC

Voda showed a fastball that was very difficult to square up as the pitch was up to 87 mph and had tremendous angle to it. He hides the ball very well so the velocity runs up on hitters well and the secondary pitches were very effective when thrown within the strike zone.

Ramon Cordero  C - 2018 - Venice, FL
Uncommitted

Cordero recorded the top catcher's velocity and pop time at 80 mph and 1.91 seconds, respectively. The catch-and-throw skills obviously stood out with a short arm action and he gains ground well through the throws. Cordero flashed quality bat speed from a gap-to-gap approach at the plate.

Omar Baldo  C - 2018 - Homestead, FL
Hillsborough CC

Baldo has a very physical and strong frame which allowed him to be an impactful presence behind the plate and at it. He posted one of the best pop times at 1.92 seconds and showed an aggressive approach at the plate with quality bat speed and strength through impact.

Dylan Kelley  RHP - 2018 - Branford, FL
South Florida State College

Kelley was one of the more projectable arms to toe the rubber with a very lean 6-foot-4 frame and a fastball already up to 88 mph. Kelley flashed late life to his fastball and in conjunction with his command low in the zone allowed for weak ground ball contact.

Robert Wegielnik  RHP - 2018 - Fort Myers, FL
Florida Southwestern State College

Wegielnik is another power-arm who toed the rubber with a low effort delivery and a loose, easy arm stroke. He ran the fastball up to 87 mph and showed good run to the arm side while pounding the strike zone with a tight spinning curveball as well.

Gustavo Lino  OF - 2018 - Coral Springs, FL
Uncommitted

Lino showed an exciting skill set highlighted by his arm strength which allows him to be a weapon anywhere on the field. Recording the highest outfield velocity at 88 mph, he used his feet well through the throws with a long, fluid arm stroke. The 6.95 runner also showed quality tools in the infield and on the mound.

Tyler Zayas  SS - 2018 - Pembroke Pines, FL
Uncommitted

Zayas showed quality arm strength from the infield to go along with twitchy, athletic actions as well. The athleticism plays well at shortstop with good rhythm and sound footwork that he uses to work through throws. Zayas has active hands with a fluid swing at the plate which allows him to create line drive contact to all fields.

Peyton Bourque  RHP - 2018 - North Fort Myers, FL
Uncommitted

Bourque showed some of the best power at the event with a very strong, leveraged swing path that was conducive to hard hit fly balls to the pull side. He gets extended well out in front of the plate while shifting his weight well to drive the ball with good carry.

Alejandro Diaz De Villegas  RHP - 2018 - Miami, FL
Uncommitted

Diaz De Villegas also showed off a very strong arm, up to 85 mph, and the primary pitcher showed a strong two-pitch mix highlighted by his tight spinning slider. The arm strength played very well from the outfield as the ball comes out of his hand cleanly while the throws were online and close to the ground.

Warren Sammons  C - 2018 - Spring, TX
Mary Hardin-Baylor/Tyler Junior College

Sammons showed advanced catch-and-throw actions behind the plate with requisite arm strength that was recorded up to 79 mph. The arm strength played well at first base as well and he showed off his ability to impact the ball with good strength and an up the middle approach at the plate.

Jorge Zambrano  RHP - 2018 - Boca Raton, FL
Messiah College

Zambrano recorded the fastest 60-yard dash time of the event with a 6.88 second trial and the athleticism was evident all over the field. The primary arm showed a quality and projectable three pitch mix with exciting hitting tools from the left side as well.
