2017 Top Prospects

Ethan Balolong-Reyes  OF - 2017 - Ventura, CA
Uncommitted

Balolong-Reyes showed serious tools; as he ran a 6.59 60 yard dash time and showed athletic actions in the OF with an 84 mph throwing arm. Also showed very good hitting tools, consistently stinging the ball on a line with developing carry and strength.

Lance Pugh  OF - 2017 - Los Angeles, CA
Los Angeles Valley College

Pugh had some of the best raw pop and strength of the event in his righthanded swing, showing the ability to really get into the ball and drive it deep to both gaps. He also has good athleticism for his size, running a sub-7.00 seconds 60 time.


2018 Top Prospects

Michael Knorr  RHP - 2018 - Carlsbad, CA
Cal State Fullerton

Knorr showed excellent present stuff as well as projection, working 86-88 mph with his fastball and showing the type of arm speed and looseness that projects for more. Pounded the zone with his fastball and showed good feel for curve as well.

Cole Kinman  C - 2018 - Tualatin, OR
Scottsdale CC

Kinman took one of the best rounds behind the plate of the event, showing real game actions and using exemplary footwork and arm strength to produce a pop time of 1.83 seconds, in addition to throwing 81 mph. He also showed quality power and strength at the plate.

Jake Goddard  OF - 2018 - La Mesa, CA

Goddard has legitimate tools and athleticism. He showed the ability to drive the ball into both gaps with a quick bat, and also ran a 6.99 60 yard dash. His athleticism shows up in the outfield as well, in addition to a strong arm that produced 88 mph throws.

Bustos was very good both offensively and defensively in this event. He showed legitimate bat speed and strength offensively, driving the ball deep into the air with serious carry and power. Defensively, he showed very quick feet and a strong arm, popping as low as 1.92 seconds.

Justice Panton  SS - 2018 - Phoenix, AZ
Chandler-Gilbert CC

Panton showed interesting athleticism and tools; especially with the bat. He's got quick hands with projectable bat speed and strength; and barreled up the ball consistently to the pull field. He has clean actions defensively as well, and moves well on his feet.

The primary righthanded pitcher worked up to 84 mph on the mound with an easy delivery and very good arm speed, also showing a solid curveball with good depth. He also showed quality feel for contact when hitting with a loose, projectable swing.

Banta looks like a very high-quality college player. He has good hitting tools with legitimate bat speed and repeatability, drove line drives consistently. He showed good arm strength as well, throwing 84 mph from the outfield and 80 mph across the infield.

Cortese showed quality defensive tools behind plate, projecting well to the next level back there. He receives well and shows efficient footwork through his actions, throwing 77 mph down to 2nd base with a pop time as low as 1.93 seconds.

Maple is highly projectable on the mound. He worked 82-84 mph and worked down in the strike zone with good plane to the plate and solid movement on the pitch. He also showed a very good curveball with sharp 11/5 shape and big depth.

Julian Mungarro  C - 2018 - Torrance, CA
Cal State Dominguez Hills

Mungarro showed tools in all facets over the weekend. He showed legitimate power potential during BP, quick feet and a strong arm during catching drills (1.98 pop time) along with quality actions in the outfield. He also worked up to 81 mph on the mound with a loose arm.

Micah Pietila-Wiggs  OF - 2018 - Chula Vista, CA
New Mexico

Pietila-Wiggs showed really well offensively overall. Generates good bat speed with leverage off of front side; does a good job getting the ball into the air with authority and good carry to the pull field. Has solid pop now with more projected to come.

Kevin Santana  LHP - 2018 - Corona, CA
Hope College

Santa showed an easy delivery with loose arm action, topping at 83 mph with his fastball and projecting for more. He also worked in a late-breaking 1/7 curveball with good depth and a very advanced, heavy-fading changeup that missed bats.

Travis Shaff-Brown  LHP - 2018 - Menifee, CA

Shaff-Brown showed well on the mound; working 80-83 mph from the left side with good arm side life. He also mixed in a quality changeup with good arm speed replication and fading life; commanded both pitches quite well.


2019 Top Prospects

Cole Dale  RHP - 2019 - Los Angeles, CA
University of California, San Diego

The UCLA commit aggressively attacked the strike zone with a fastball that showed some running action to arm side up to 86 miles per hour. Dale also flashed a very tight, sharp breaking curveball with very good swing and miss potential.

Seth Spencer  LHP - 2019 - Murrieta, CA
Indianapolis

Spencer was excellent all around at this event. A primary LHP, he worked up to 86 mph on the mound with a good breaking ball in addition to throwing 88 mph from the outfield as well as generating very good bat speed when hitting with loft to his swing and some power there.

Ricky Tibbett  RHP - 2019 - Chula Vista, CA
San Diego State

Tibbett is highly projectable on the mound, with a loose, easy arm action and lots of room to continue filling out. He worked up to 85 mph with his fastball with a very fluid arm stroke; also landed his curveball wherever he wanted with sharp, late break.

Kyle Moats  LHP - 2019 - Fresno, CA
Air Force

The 6-foot-3 left handed pitcher consistently filled the strike zone with a fastball that had running action to arm side in the low to mid 80's, topped at 85 miles per hour. Showed developing feel for a 1/7 curveball offering that flashed occasional hard bite. Moats also impressed while at the plate displaying good raw power with the ability to drive the ball deep into the gaps with authority.

Riley Carter  1B - 2019 - Carlsbad, CA
Air Force

Carter had some of the best bat speed of the event, really getting the barrel out and punishing the baseball with strength and highly projectable power. He's a very good defensive first baseman who has arm strength as well, threw 82 mph from the outfield and also ran a sub-7 60 yard dash.

Ryan Agosto  LHP - 2019 - San Diego, CA

The San Diego native showed off his two-way potential showing a smooth, repeatable delivery while on the mound with good feel for the zone. At the plate, Agosto consistently produced hard, rising line drives to all fields with easy, naturally lifted swing plane through extension.

Cervantes showed legitimate arm strength from the outfield, up to 89 mph with easy carry and excellent arm speed along with good actions. He also consistently drove the ball into the air when hitting with good bat speed and leverage off of his front side.

The 5-foot-11, 160-pound catcher showed fundamentally sound, game actions from the behind the plate into release. At the plate, Cop generated natural leverage through the zone with present bat speed at contact. When squared, produced solid backspin with carry to each outfield gap.

Jordan Dem  3B - 2019 - Oak Park, CA
College of Wooster

Dem looked good both on the mound and with the bat. He has good flow to his swing and creates excellent bat speed through the zone with very good jump off the barrel to all fields; while also worked up to 83 mph on the mound with a deceptive delivery.

Justin Esters  RHP - 2019 - Calabasas, CA
Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges

The 6-foot-2, 180-pound right handed pitcher utilized an easy, repeatable three-quarters arm slot that produced good downward angle through the zone topping at 86 miles per hour. Esters showed exceptional command with his fastball, easily working to the inner and outer half of the plate with ease.

Ryan Grabosch  C - 2019 - Tucson, AZ
Central Arizona CC

Grabosch utilized very athletic actions behind the plate and created low, accurate carry while throwing to second base. The Tuscon, AZ native consistently drove the baseball in the air with a leveraged swing plane with solid strength at contact.

Bryson Hashimoto  SS - 2019 - San Diego, CA
Washington State

The 6-foot, 170-pound shortstop showed very quick hip actions while launching to contact that created good bat speed through the hitting zone. Hashimoto showed good feel from the barrel consistently creating hard, line drive contact to all fields throughout the weekend.

Joe Hollerbach  3B - 2019 - Orinda, CA
Cornell

Hollerback works to contact on a direct, inside path to contact and generated a linear plane with present bat speed when working to the middle of the field. On the mound, the 2019 grad showed a heavy running fastball with occasional sink that topped at 82 miles per hour. Consistently missed barrels and induced weak ground ball contact through each inning of work.

Noel Perez  2B - 2019 - Chula Vista, CA
Indian Hills CC

The Chula Vista, CA native flashed smooth, athletic actions with some good range to each side while working out defensively. At the plate, Perez utilized a compact swing plane the generated good bat speed through extension. Consistently delivered the barrel to contact with intent creating hard line drive contact to the pull side gap.

Jesse Pierce  SS - 2019 - Las Vegas, NV
Arkansas

The 6-foot-2, 165-pounder showed very athletic, smooth actions in the infield, at the plate, and on the mound throughout the weekend. Showed clean actions with solid range while topping at 85 miles per hour from the infield and created hard, line drive contact at the plate with good feel for the barrel. On the mound, Pierce topped at 85 miles per hour with late run to arm side while changing speed with a 12/6 curveball that flashed tight spin.

Isaac Ramirez  C - 2019 - Fullerton, CA
Long Beach State

Ramierz showed good flex behind the plate with smooth, fundamental actions through release. At the plate, the 2019 catcher looked to create separation on a naturally lifted plane through extension. With present bat speed and strength at contact, Ramierez generated hard contact with solid carry.

Drew Rico  LHP - 2019 - Menifee, CA
Shoreline CC

Rico looked good on the mound, showing a fastball up to 81 mph from a lower lefthanded slot, working to both sides of the plate. He does a good job creating angle to the plate and mixed in a sharp slider that he could manipulate the shape of.

Mike Schreiber  RHP - 2019 - Rancho Santa Fe, CA
University of Washington

Schreiber flashed athletic actions defensively in the outfield as well as at the plate, but was impressive on the mound as well. The Rancho Santa Fe native utilized a low three-quarters arm slot with a fastball offering that produced good running action topping at 83 miles per hour. Showed the ability to spot up to each edge consistently as well.

Jordan Sprinkle  SS - 2019 - Indio, CA
UC Santa Barbara

The 5-foot-10, 150-pound shortstop utilized a very balanced, direct swing plane with a high contact approach while at the plate. Swing played very well in games, consistently creating hard line drive contact.

Dylan Tanner  C - 2019 - Foothill Ranch, CA
San Diego State

Tanner showed a solid combination of quickness and arm strength popping at 1.85 from behind the plate. The 2019 grad also impressed while at the plate utilizing a leveraged plane with the ability to turn the barrel to contact ,working to each gap with authority.

Mikie Welch  C - 2019 - San Diego, CA

The 2019 catcher swung with extreme intent while at the plate looking to drive the baseball with authority. When squared, Welch showed excellent strength at contact producing very loud, hard contact to each outfield gap.

Chase Wells  OF - 2019 - Gilbert, AZ

The Gilbert, AZ native showed smooth athletic actions defensively and utilized a repeatable, line drive barrel plane while at the plate. Wells consistently barrels the baseball with the ability to work to all fields. On the mound, showed feel to each edge of the plate topping at 82 mph and change speeds with a short slider.

Griffin Zamora  SS - 2019 - La Mesa, CA
Cal State Northridge

Zamora showed big intent when hitting, generating very good bat speed with positive launches, driving the ball into the air with projectable strength. He also worked up to 80 mph on the mound and showed a good curveball as well; in addition to having clean, athletic actions in the infield.


2020 Top Prospects

Jordan Thompson  SS - 2020 - Chula Vista, CA
Louisiana State

The 5-foot-11, 150-pound shortstop created solid bat speed for size, aggressively turning the barrel to contact and working to pull side with good jump off the barrel. On the mound, Thompson showed a very smooth, easy arm action with very explosive hip actions while working to the plate. Aggressively attacked and over power hitters with a heavy fastball that topped at 85 miles per hour.

Alonzo Richardson  SS - 2020 - Spring Valley, CA
San Diego State

The Spring Valley, CA native flashed solid hand quickness through the zone generating good bat speed through extension. Showed the barrel control and strength to turn the barrel to contact and drive the baseball with authority to the pull side gap. Also showed good command of a fastball offering while on the mound topping at 82 miles per hour and changed speed with at 10/4 slider that flashed late tilt.

Troy Smith  C - 2020 - Newport Beach, CA

The Newport Beach, CA native showed very quick hands through the zone with present bat speed and strength at contact. Smith consistently turned the barrel to contact on a naturally leverage plane generating hard, loud contact to each outfield gap.

Dante Schmid  RHP - 2020 - Chula Vista, CA
San Jose State

The Chula Vista native stand at a lean 6-foot-2 and utilized lower half well while working to the plate. Schmid works exclusively from the stretch showing the ability to spot up to each edge of the plate with a fastball that tops at 82 miles per hour. Primarily utilized curveball as an out pitch, generating some sharp depth when staying on top of offering.


2021 Top Prospects

Aidan Berger  C - 2021 - Palo Alto, CA
UCLA

The 2021 shortstop showed clean, athletic actions defensively with the ability to change arm angle with accuracy while on the run. At the plate, Berger utilized a balanced, linear swing plane with the ability to manipulate the barrel and works to all fields consistently.

Carson McKinney  RHP - 2021 - Tomball, TX
Kansas

The 6-foot-4, 195-pound 2021 grad impressed while on the mound showing a loose three-quarters arm slot and created solid downhill angle through the zone topping at 80 miles per hour. McKinney also flashed very good depth with a 12/6 curveball that has promising swing and miss potential.


Free Agents Top Prospects

Juan Cerda  C - Free Agents - Tijuana, BN MEX

Cerda works through transition very quickly from behind the plate and generates stiff, accurate throws to the bag consistently popping in the low 1.9's, best of 1.87. At the plate, Cerda produced good linear shift through the baseball that generated good jump off the barrel to the middle of the field.

Jashia Morrissey-Jakel  OF - Free Agents - Los Angeles, CA
Long Beach State

Morrissey showed good actions at the plate and on the mound. As a switch hitter, the 2019 grad flashed solid feel for the barrel while working to all fields. On the mound, the 5-foot-11, 155-pounder created heavy downhill action through the zone topping at 84 miles per hour.
