2017 Top Prospects

Nick Gastin  SS - 2017 - Lagrangeville, NY
Stony Brook

Gastin was one of the better defensive infielders in attendance over the weekend, showing high level footwork and athleticism at the shortstop position; highlighted by his excellent arm strength, which was clocked up to 88 MPH across the diamond. He also showed quality bat speed with a whole-field approach when hitting.

Steven Kinnally  OF - 2017 - Orangeburg, NY
Uncommitted

Kinnally showed serious power from the right side during his BP session. He has good present bat speed and had a swing with lift in it. The approach was to hit the ball in the air hard and he showed some home run power in his swing.

Jimmy May Jr  MIF - 2017 - Upper Marlboro, MD
Uncommitted

May impressed at nearly every facet of the game during the event. He has a very smooth load into his swing with a line drive plane and made consistent hard contact. He showed some sound pitching tools as well with a fastball that had occasional cutting life to it and a curveball that flashed sweeping action.

Kevin Roll  OF - 2017 - Linden, NJ
Uncommitted

With an athletic frame and room for projection, Roll will only continue to add strength. He showed good footwork and arm strength from the outfield and overall athleticism. Roll swings with intent at the plate and has serious bat speed and displayed the ability to crush line drives to all fields.

Dylan Taliaferro  LHP - 2017 - Neptune, NJ
Lynn/Brookdale CC

Taliaferro showed off a loose arm with a fastball that sat in the low-80s. He had some deception while throwing from a lower three-quarter slot and had late arm side life to his fastball. The slider had short break to it as well and he had sound overall hitting tools as well.


2018 Top Prospects

Keury Abreu  SS - 2018 - Bronx, NY
Manhattan

Abreu has a very lean build with quick twitch athleticism and very good actions defensively. He has soft hands with clean movements and makes accurate throws. Offensively he has a line drive approach and showed sound barrel feel during the BP session.

Matthew Wyatt Beddow  RHP - 2018 - Camp Hill, PA
Wake Forest

A Penn State commit, Beddow ran his fastball up to 91 mph and did so while showing off a quick right arm. On top of the velocity with which he could miss bats he also flashed a hard, downer curveball in the low-70s.

Will Gambino  RHP - 2018 - Haddonfield, NJ
Kentucky

Gamino showed off an impressive all around tool set throughout the showcase. With a strong right arm that produce quality velocity from both the outfield and on the mound, The Citadel commit also showed solid bat speed and hard contact off the barrel.

Justin Guidos  RHP - 2018 - Quakertown, PA
East Stroudsburg

Guidos showed a full array of quality tools; especially on the mound as a RHP. Working up to 86 MPH with his fastball and generating very good running life on the pitch; he also has a swing-and-miss curveball that is his put-away pitch with tight spin and big depth.

Luke Gutos  SS - 2018 - Moorestown, NJ
Massachusetts

The College of Charleston commit registered the highest infield velocity of the event at 91 mph across the diamond. He showed off good athleticism from the infield with very real, and loud, offensive tools. Gutos creates a ton of separation in his swing and has very good bat speed that produces a lot of power.

Aaron Holiday  RHP - 2018 - Bear, DE
Old Dominion

Holiday has an ideal, physical frame at 6-foot-1 and 175-pounds. He was good defensively with very good arm strength behind the plate up to 80 mph. He has big power potential at the plate with very impressive bat speed and skilled control of the barrel of the bat.

Braden Homesley  1B - 2018 - Cumming, GA
Uncommitted

The 6-foot-2, 195-pound Virginia native showed a lot of power at the plate during BP. He has a lot of raw power and he crushed some baseballs that showed good carry. The primary first baseman showed sound footwork with a full arm action on his throws.

Conner MacNeil  RHP - 2018 - Haddonfield, NJ
Uncommitted

The 6-foot-5, 205-pound MacNeil turned in one of the loudest rounds of batting practice as he consistently found the barrel and looked to impact the baseball. He had an exit velocity of 98 mph on the Pocket Radar and also ran his fastball up to 83 mph on the mound.

Thomas Rodgers  C - 2018 - Hazlet, NJ
Muhlenberg

One of the most consistent rounds of BP came off the bat of Rodgers. He showed high level hand quickness and the ability to drive the ball hard to all fields and consistently crushed line drives to the pull-side gap. Rodgers showed good arm strength behind the plate and popped a solid 2.02.

David Williams  1B - 2018 - East Stroudsburg, PA
Lackawanna College

Williams has a very strong, physical build and is listed at 6-foot-4, 205-pounds. The physicality translates well into the swing as he showed a very high power ceiling both during BP and in game. He hit the ball with the barrel consistently to hit balls for home run distance.


2019 Top Prospects

Zion Spearman  OF - 2019 - Philadelphia, PA
Pittsburgh

Spearman has immense present physicality and took some of the best BP of the entire tournament. He has outstanding bat speed and a very good feel for hitting the ball out in front with the barrel. The feel for the barrel was very advanced as he roped line drives and fly balls with authority. He has pop in his swing and good gap power.

Robert Buecker  SS - 2019 - Allentown, NJ
Army

Buecker is a solid athlete who showed off two-way potential just as he has done in past viewings. He showed smooth, athletic actions up the middle and ran his fastball up to 86 mph on the bump. He generates solid bat speed from the right side and found the barrel regularly in live action.

Jacob Ciccone  LHP - 2019 - Monmouth Junction, NJ
Lafayette

Ciccone showed very well during his time on the mound, working up to 83 MPH with his fastball from a loose, easy arm action and showing the ability to throw 3 pitches for strikes while understanding the nuances of sequencing and moving the ball around the zone.

Nicholas Cippoletti  SS - 2019 - Staten Island, NY
Rider

Cippoletti showed quick twitch athleticism and sound defensive actions at shortstop. He repeated well and showed good footwork and a quick release on throws. The swing creates line drives and his hips torque well into contact. He projects well and as he continues to mature physically he should add strength into the swing.

Ron Cole  RHP - 2019 - Neptune City, NJ
Kentucky

Cole was very impressive on the mound with a fastball that had life to the arm side and topped out at 87 mph. The delivery was pretty easy and he got a lot of swings and misses on his fastball. He also mixed in a breaking pitch that had slurve-type action.

Nick Diaz  C - 2019 - Bridgewater, NJ
Ursinus College

Diaz showed well both offensively and defensively in this event. He has good bat speed with solid strength that he utilizes to drive the ball consistently to the pull field with good jump off the barrel; as well as showing quick actions behind the plate with a pop time as low as 1.97.

Devin Hack  OF - 2019 - Somerville, NJ
Seton Hall

Hack showed off a very good frame with athletic build that translates nicely into baseball actions. The outfield defense was smooth and he got through the ball well on throws. He struck line drives to all fields and drove the ball well off the barrel consistently during BP.

Parker Landwehr  C - 2019 - Baltimore, MD
Boston College

Landwehr had one of the strongest overall performances showcasing excellent skills defensively and serious hitting tools. The arm strength plays well behind the plate and in the outfield with sound mechanics for both. He has a lot of juice in his swing with present bat speed and looseness.

Tucker Mitchell  C - 2019 - Bradenton Beach, FL
Florida Atlantic

Mitchell showed serious strength and bat speed when hitting; with the ability to really torque his hips into his swing and get the barrel out on time, consistently driving the ball off the barrel. He was also very good defensively, with a strong arm behind the plate up to 81 MPH and a pop time as low as 1.88.

Steven Rizzo  OF - 2019 - Remsenburg, NY
Franklin & Marshall

Rizzo showed an intriguing overall skill set with impressive feats both at the plate and defensively. He has good footwork in the infield and showed smoothness with quality arm strength in the outfield as well. He also showed a smooth swing with very quick hands and good bat speed.

Grady Stevenson  OF - 2019 - Croton On Hudson, NY
SUNY-Cortland

Stevenson had a very consistent and impressive BP session and generated a lot of line drives. He shifts his weight through the point of contact well while creating torque for some power potential.

Matthew Warrington  SS - 2019 - Millsboro, DE
Uncommitted

Set to begin his sophomore season this spring Warrington showed off solid arm strength both on the mound and across the diamond throughout the showcase. He ran his fastball up to 85 mph and filled up the strike zone while showing a 12-6 curveball and also threw 87 mph across the diamond.

Zachary Wojnarowski  SS - 2019 - Yorktown, VA
VMI

Wojnarowski showed off potential both at the plate and on the mound. Up to 84 mph, the primary shortstop showed a two-pitch mix of his fastball with occasional plane and a changeup as a secondary. Offensively he has big power in his bat and swings with the intent to drive balls high and far.


2020 Top Prospects

Colin Ahearn  LHP - 2020 - Lakeville, MA
Tennessee

The primary pitcher had a strong performance from the mound with quick arm speed and command of the fastball. The pitch reached as high as 82 mph with short life to the arm side and worked both sides of the plate. Ahearn has some bat speed as well and showed the ability to barrel the baseball effectively.

Patrick Coyne  3B - 2020 - Randolph, NJ
Lehigh

Coyne is a primary third baseman but graded out very well on the mound. He showed a very compact arm action with an advanced approach and three pitch mix. He showed good offensive tools as well with bat speed and natural lift throughout his swing. There is projectable power in his swing and frame.

Tanner Schobel  SS - 2020 - Williamsburg, VA
Virginia Tech

Schobel had a strong overall performance with interesting tools. He displayed clean actions at shortstop with a quick release and is athletic enough to catch as well where he popped a low time of 1.91. Schobel swings very hard at the plate with very good hand speed and has a lot of juice in his bat.


2021 Top Prospects

Joe Wozny  RHP - 2021 - Rocky Point, NY
University of Connecticut

Wozny showed high-level tools on the mound with a very physical frame and quick arm speed. The command is still developing but the fastball reached 86 mph and was consistently in the low- to mid 80s. He mixed in a curveball with sharp bite.
