2022 Top Prospects

Chase Shores  RHP - 2022 - Midland, TX
Louisiana State

Shores has excellent physical projection at 6-foot-5 and just 165-pounds and showed some strength off the barrel but really impressed on the mound. On the mound he has pure arm talent with a loose and whippy arm stroke showcasing some serious arm speed while touching 84 mph and showing good feel for a curveball as well.

Gabriel Flores  OF - 2022 - Longview, TX
University of Houston

Flores has good size, physicality, and strength while showing off both the arm and a strong swing over the weekend. He has aggressive actions in the outfield while the arm checked in at 82 mph and offensively he has a line drive swing plane with quick hands and can put a charge into a ball when squared.

2023 Top Prospects

Trenton Lape  3B - 2023 - Bossier City, LA
Louisiana State

Lape had the top velocity of the event at 89 mph and has a really loose and fast arm stroke on the mound. He showed a good amount of sink and run on the heater with a good 12/6 curveball while he really impacts the ball from an offensive standpoint resulting in an 87 mph exit velocity.

Diego Luzardo  RHP - 2023 - La Porte, TX
University of Houston

Luzardo did everything well over the weekend, and even left with the thought that he might have been most impressive on the mound. He worked up to 87 mph with a loose and fast arm that projects exceptionally well while he repeats his swing well with smoothness and bat speed and has a consistent swing.

Brandon Levy  RHP - 2023 - Bossier City, LA
Uncommitted

Levy looked very sharp during his outing on the mound with a short, quick arm stroke that produced a fastball up to 84 mph. He repeats his delivery nicely while working to spots and showing an 11/5 curveball while he swings the stick well too. Levy has a clean path with a line drive approach and hits line drives with intent to all fields.

Michael Cook  C - 2023 - Mansfield, TX
Air Force

Cook is a big prospect with excellent physical projection at 6-foot-3, 191-pounds. He has some ability behind the plate with good catch-and-throw skills and advanced arm strength with a best pop of 2.01 seconds. He is a strong kid at the plate with some power now and projects to be a big power hitter at maturity.

Travis Sykora  RHP - 2023 - Round Rock, TX
Texas

Sykora has an extremely long and lean frame with excellent projection on the frame and already has some strength on the build. He worked up to 80 mph on the mound with a loose and easy arm action on the mound while at the plate he shows some bat speed with a level swing plane and projects for some power too.

Jake Allen Dufner  1B - 2023 - Edinburg, TX
Uncommitted

Dufner can really hit and he showed it all weekend as he projects to hit for power and did so during game action with a long home run to right field. He has a middle of the field approach with good bat speed and strength in his wrists which allows him to generate carry and backspin on fly balls to all fields.

Boots Landry  3B - 2023 - Friendswood, TX
Texas A&M

Landry has a large frame with a strong lefthanded swing for a young prospect and he impressed this weekend with his arm too as he was up to 81 mph on the mound. Landry has advanced strength and bat speed from the left side and the result is best when he gets his hands extended and is able to leverage the ball to pull.

Noah Paddie  2B - 2023 - Marshall, TX
Texas A&M

Paddie is a very advanced athlete and that shows itself in has speed as he turned in a 6.82 second 60-yard dash time. This allows him to get down the line quickly as he has good burst out of the box and also showed some young bat speed with athletic actions in the infield.

Ryan Rusk  3B - 2023 - Kingwood, TX
Uncommitted

Rusk has a large frame with broad shoulders with good arm strength and showed he could create strength off the barrel. He swings the bat hard with good present bat speed and utilizes a big leg kick to engage the back hip and leverage the ball to the pull side. He was also up to 81 mph on the mound showing two-way potential.

Landon Schmitz  OF - 2023 - Kinder, LA
Uncommitted

Schmitz is an athletic lefthander with deception and angle on a fastball that topped out at 77 mph on the weekend. He attacks the strike zone nicely while showing good shape with a feel for command. The athleticism is also evident in his delivery and in his speed where he recorded the fastest 60 time of the event at 6.81 seconds.
