2019 Top Prospects

Cj Neese Jr  SS - 2019 - Greensboro, NC
North Carolina State

One of the premier two-way prospects in the nation, Neese did it all during this event registering one of the more mechanically sound swings and a fastball up to 94 mph. The North Carolina State commit has a sharp curveball and advanced four-pitch mix, with a smooth swing and tons of power to project upon his lean frame.

Jax Cash  C - 2019 - Spartanburg, SC
South Carolina

Cash displayed loud tools with impressive arm strength behind the plate that helped neutralize opposing running games with multiple caught stealings in game. Cash has good bat speed and a positive launch angle for home run power; he offers two-way upside with a power fastball up to 92 mph on the mound.

Xander Hamilton  OF - 2019 - Raleigh, NC
Virginia Tech

Hamilton showed big time tools during the event with, perhaps, the best raw power of the event and arm strength that was up to 92 mph on the mound and 93 mph from the outfield. The Virginia Tech commit is a good athlete with a 6.75 60-yard dash and has tremendous bat speed too.

Blake Bennett  LHP - 2019 - Haleyville, AL

An Alabama commit, Bennett offers lots of intrigue and upside with a lefthanded fastball up to 90 mph. Bennett threw lots of strikes, and commanded the fastball effectively to both sides while the breaking ball is the selling point on the profile with sharp break and garners a lot of swing and miss with the pitch.

Andrew Washington  RHP - 2019 - Sharpsburg, GA
South Florida

Washington opened eyes at this event with electric arm speed and a power fastball registered up to 94 mph. The delivery is easy and compact with good balance overall and he pounded the zone with his impressive fastball while showing good feel for a breaking ball and nearly limitless upside.

Tim Cao  RHP - 2019 - Oak Ridge, NC
North Carolina State

A North Carolina State commit, Cao was one of the more athletic pitchers in the event turning in a strong 6.69 second 60-yard dash. Cao features an advanced four pitch mix with a fastball up to 92 mph with present and projectable arm speed to go along with two distinct breaking balls and a changeup.

William Hamiter  SS - 2019 - Tuscaloosa, AL

Hamiter is one of the best pure hitters, not only in this event, but in the country with a fast, clean stroke from the left side with tremendous impact strength. The Alabama commit has a very loose and easy swing and the ball absolutely jumps off the barrel; he also turned in a 6.78 second 60-yard dash time.

Patrick Norman  3B - 2019 - Murfreesboro, TN
McLennan CC

Norman is a pretty tantalizing prospect when you consider he's 6-foot-4, 195-pounds and a power-hitting shortstop. He moves well with a recorded 60-yard dash time of 6.83 seconds but the bat is the calling card with a clean, fast swing and such an easy trigger that allows for loud, consistent home run power.

Bret Madren  C - 2019 - Sandy Springs, GA

Madren's right arm is a legitimate tool and weapon all to itself as he was around 90 mph with his throwing arm from nearly every position. The catch-and-throw skills show promise behind the plate and he shows a very smooth, easy righthanded swing with present power to the pull side.

Brennan Keil  RHP - 2019 - Ormond Beach, FL
Seminole State College of Florida

An Army commit, Keil has tremendous size and strength with a 6-6, 230-pound frame that offers benefits on the mound and at the plate. He has a simple trigger into the swing with tremendous carry off the barrel all while offering significant upside on the mound with a four-pitch mix and a fastball up to 90 mph.

Gage Vailes  RHP - 2019 - Marietta, GA
Kennesaw State

A Kennesaw State commit, Vailes is a still-projectable righthanded pitcher with a very fast arm and a short, clean arm stroke. Vailes ran his fastball up to 90 mph with lots of arm side run and plenty of strikes working with a sharp, downer curveball at 76 mph with 12/6 shape that functioned as a swing-and-miss offering.

Jadyn Jackson  SS - 2019 - Sugar Hill, GA
Georgia Tech

A Georgia Tech commit, Jackson has a very strong, athletic frame with plenty of tools that offer significant upside. He shows lots of balance at shortstop with enough arm strength to stick at the position and shows very fast hands and requisite bat speed to create home run power to all fields with intent.

Marcerio Allen  SS - 2019 - Dacula, GA
Kennesaw State

A quick twitch athlete committed to Kennesaw State Allen ran a 6.89 60 yard dash during drills and also showed some of the better infield tools as well. Allen has the ability to throw from multiple arm angles and really smooth actions at shortstop that showed up in game. The switch hitter also swings it well from both sides with relatively quicker hands from the right side.

Garrett Danford  2B - 2019 - Grand Ridge, FL
Northwest Florida State College

Danford showed out well both defensively and offensively with a very quick exchange and transfer behind the plate that resulted in a 1.91 second pop time. The swing offers plenty of bat speed through the zone and he shifts his weight forward nicely for home run power which included a home run in game.

Khalil Hassan  OF - 2019 - Ellenwood, GA
Erskine College

Turning in the fastest 60-yard dash time on the day was the uncommitted Hassan who showed off the wheels with a 6.36 second time on the day. He was a terror on the base paths during the game and showed off a strong arm up to 88 mph across the infield and a projectable righthanded swing.

Will Smith  RHP - 2019 - Conway, SC
Coastal Carolina

Smith was a strike out machine on the mound with an upper-80s fastball with very impressive command of the pitch and late arm side run. The breaking ball has sharp break to it and the makings of a future plus pitch all while showing advanced feel for his repertoire with all three of his pitches for strikes.

Lucas Donlon  3B - 2019 - McLean, VA
Virginia Tech

A Virginia Tech commit, the barrel control, hand-eye skills, and impact strength all stand out for Donlon who has the makings of an impact prospect. The arm strength plays well at third base, registered up to 87 mph across the infield, and wears out the pull side and up the middle with hard hit line drives.

Bret Adkins  C - 2019 - Hiram, GA
Charleston (West Virginia)

Adkins brings a strength oriented profile to the table with significant arm strength from the catcher position, up to 83 mph behind the dish, and a powerful righthanded swing that resulted in an exit velocity of 92 mph. Adkins has a clean, quick swing that stays in the hitting zone for along time.

Jacob Berger  C - 2019 - Canton, GA

Berger showed off great feel behind the plate, with quality receiving skills and overall defensive chops highlighted by his fluid mechanics and advanced catch-and-throw skills. He registered a 1.87 pop time and threw 80 mph from the backstop while showing a simple, repeatable swing on a line drive swing plane.

Nate Bonner  RHP - 2019 - Calhoun, GA
Shorter University

Bonner is a highly athletic, uncommitted prospect who showed off pure shortstop traits with clean, fluid actions and arm strength up to 87 mph. Bonner ran a sub-7.00 second 60-yard dash time with hand quickness at the plate good for a high-contact end result offensively.

Kyle Bork  OF - 2019 - Alpharetta, GA

Bork has the size and stature of a legitimate prospect at a lean and projectable 6-foot-5, 184-pounds. The impact strength is very loud with a 93 mph exit velocity and has natural loft to his swing plane for home run power all while showing out well defensively in the outfield with present arm strength as well.

Allen Brown  C - 2019 - Snellville, GA

Brown is a primary catcher who shows feel behind the plate and at the plate swinging. Brown has a smooth exchange while catching and quick feet into throws with a best pop time of 1.94 seconds. He likely excels more at the plate, however, with very strong hands in his swing and loud barrel skills.

Hayden Bruno  RHP - 2019 - Mountain Brook, AL
Tallahassee CC

A yet uncommitted prospect from Alabama, Bruno offers intriguing two-way upside with a power mentality on the mound and lots of strength, an exit velocity of 91 mph, at the dish. Bruno is up to 87 mph with a biting curveball and features a consistent, repeatable swing with lots of impact strength.

Joseph "Cooper" Doughman  C - 2019 - Lagrange, GA
Chattahoochee Valley CC

Doughman is a very strong prospect with loud arm strength that shone behind the plate with an 82 mph catcher velocity and an impressive 1.88 pop time at the backstop. The swing is very strength oriented with power to the pull side of the field and an approach that is looking to drive the ball into the air.

Carson Ford  C - 2019 - Spring Hill, TN
Western Carolina

Rarely do you see a plus runner behind the dish, but Ford registered a 6.63 second 60-yard dash with very impressive catch and throw skills, resulting in a 1.96 pop time. The uncommitted Tennessee native has a clean lefthanded stroke and torques his hips well through contact resulting in a lot of projection offensively.

Christian Herberholz  RHP - 2019 - Scottsboro, AL
Tennessee Tech

With a strong build and power right arm, the uncommitted Herberholz shows lots of present arm speed and sound mechanics that make him a high end prospect. The low effort delivery leaves room for growth while he shows present feel for a tight, downer curveball as an out pitch.

Elijah Hilton  OF - 2019 - Atlanta, GA
Indian Hills CC

Hilton showed off loud tools and an extremely projectable profile with a 6.6 60-yard dash time and a 90 mph infield velocity across the diamond. The swing has lots of raw bat speed in the swing with a very high power ceiling given the physical frame and present bat speed.

Jay Kehoe  C - 2019 - Salem, AL
Wallace CC-Dothan

Kehoe's catch-and-throw skills were on prime display over the weekend with an 80 mph catcher velocity and a sub-2.0 second pop time. The swing offers some present bat speed as he swings down on the ball and also offers upside on the mound with a fastball up to 85 mph.

Kevin Kilpatrick  OF - 2019 - Stockbridge, GA
College of Central Florida

Kilpatrick's raw tools are very impressive in a vacuum, even more so when you take into fact he can do it all on a baseball field. He turned in a 6.66 second 60-yard dash time, with 89 mph arm strength from the outfield, and a short, compact swing with present bat speed and loft.

Mitchell Landon  OF - 2019 - Milton, GA
Gulf Coast CC

Landon has a very high ceiling profile for an uncommitted outfielder as he attacks the ball showing off the arm strength up to 88 mph that functions as a threat to the running game. Landon has loose hands at the plate with a very balanced, short swing and offers significant upside in all facets of the game.

Dylan Matela  RHP - 2019 - Alpharetta, GA

Matela hits all the indicators college coaches look for out of uncommitted prospects with present velocity up to 88 mph to go along with projectable arm speed and feel for three pitches. The fastball has very late life with plane from his arm slot with a curveball that looked unhittable when located properly.

Will McGregor  LHP - 2019 - Anderson, SC
South Carolina

A South Carolina commit, McGregor has a physical presence on the mound while attacking with his entire repertoire. McGregor ran his fastball up to 86 mph with significant running life while spotting up to both sides of the plates and making hitters uncomfortable; he also showed good potential with the breaking ball.

Tyler Rigot  LHP - 2019 - Weddington, NC

Rigot is a power lefthanded pitcher as he pounded the zone with his fastball that lived in the 81-84 mph range while bumping 85 mph a number of times. A Bucknell commit, Rigot works quickly and with conviction as he attacks hitters on both sides of the plate and features three pitches including a 12/6 curveball for strikes.

Brett Roberts  SS - 2019 - Atlanta, GA
Tennessee Tech

Roberts' arm strength was one of the premier tools of the event as his 93 mph infield velocity is one of the best in the country. He runs a sub-7.00 second 60-yard dash time and has some present power to the pull side as he gets ann his weight through the swing properly for high exit velocities.

Chandler Simpson  SS - 2019 - Atlanta, GA

Simpson is another outstanding runner who took the field at PG Park and his 6.53 second 60-yard dash time proved to be one of the best of the event. The athletic, twitchy, and uncommitted prospect is an impact prospect on the baseball field who creates some bat speed through extension out in front of the plate.

Skipper Snypes  SS - 2019 - Mobile, AL

The uncommitted Alabama native showed legitimate two-way potential with a fastball up to 88 mph on the mound and a smooth lefthanded stroke. The breaking ball was a good pitch on the mound as a strong out pitch and Snypes has very polished hitting mechanics with proper lower half usage and an all fields approach.

Cole Tillotson  LHP - 2019 - Peachtree Corners, GA
Young Harris College

Tillotson has very good pitchability with a lot of deception and command on the mound, showing a very loose arm stroke and featured a mid-80s fastball with lots of run and sink. He really messes with hitters' timing on the mound and worked in a breaking ball while attacking hitters with the fastball.

Conner Todaro  OF - 2019 - Powder Springs, GA
South Carolina-Upstate

Todaro shone as a two-way prospect with a simple, line drive swing plane offensively and really opened eyes with his pitchability on the mound. He has a clean arm stroke with lots of sink and cutting life on the fastball up to 86 mph and showed promising offspeed pitches highlighted by a split-changeup.

Keegan Tranum  OF - 2019 - Snellville, GA
Emmanuel College (Georgia)

Tranum registered one of the best 60-yard dash times of the event with a blazing 6.55 second time. The speed plays well both defensively and on the bases, however it is loudest in the batter's box as Tranum's advanced contact skills allow for a lot of balls in the play and gives him a chance to showcase his speed.

Zach Turner  RHP - 2019 - Acworth, GA

With a tall and projectable 6-foot-2, 175-pound frame, Turner offers a lot of upside for a prospect that came into the event uncommitted. He worked his fastball into the upper-80s with significant downhill plane on the pitch with very advanced feel for his offspeed pitches highlighted by his late-breaking slider.

Wesley Wade  SS - 2019 - Lindale, GA
Berry College

Wade has a very loud tool set for a still uncommitted prospect, with a 6.74 second 60-yard dash time and throws registered up to 90 mph across the infield. Wade has legitimate bat speed through the hitting zone and turns the barrel over the inside part of the plate very well for some pull side pop.

Christian Webb  C - 2019 - Stonemountain, GA
Seminole State College of Florida

Webb showed off loud tools in nearly every department with a blazing 6.53 second 60-yard dash, which really stands out when you consider he's a primary catcher. The arm strength annd catch-and-throw skills are very advanced and he has raw bat speed at the plate and puts the ball in play with authority.

2020 Top Prospects

Zane Faulk  C - 2020 - Phenix City, AL

Faulk had a monster showing at the weekend showcase where he was the event leader in outfield velocity at 95 mph, infield velocity at 94 mph and second in catcher velocity at 87 mph. He is a primary catcher but will likely out grow the position due to his quickness that he displayed in the 60 bursting a 6.69 second 60 yard dash.

Hunter Donaldson  SS - 2020 - Salem, AL
South Alabama

A plus runner with quick hands at the dish and fluid actions and arm strength in the infield are what Donaldson brings to the table. A 6.50 runner with 89 mph arm strength from both his primary shortstop position and from the outfield make Donaldson a big time prospect.

Reid Fagerstrom  RHP - 2020 - Sharpsburg, GA

A primary righthanded pitcher, Fagerstrom lives in the upper-80s with his fastball that peaked at 89 mph on one occasion. The uncommitted pitcher really worked a strong three innings at the event with two good secondary offerings in his slider and changeup. He also showed some arm strength in infield drills as well as some pop in his bat during batting practice.

Adam Love  OF - 2020 - Roswell, GA

A toolsy outfielder with 6.69 second speed and a 91 mph outfield arm usually stands out and that is what Adam Love did this weekend at Sunshine Southeast. His quickness showed up in game and played nicely. He was also up to 85 mph on the mound as well during the event.

Rhett Lowder  RHP - 2020 - Albemarle, NC
Wake Forest

Lowder only pitched at the event, but what he showed on the mound was very impressive and projects as well. At 6-foot-3 165-pounds, the righthander has a fastball up to 86 mph and lived in the mid-80s throughout. He spotted up all three of his offerings well, but really flourished with the fastball and changeup combination.

Jackson Huguley  1B - 2020 - Phenix City, AL

Huguley had one of the more fluid displays at first base making quick turns and showing good footwork. He also had good arm strength from the position as well as in the infield topping out at 88 mph and 89 mph respectfully. Huguley's swing has present strength with some jump off of the barrel.

Cody Rech  C - 2020 - Milton, GA
Western Carolina

The primary catcher who hails from Milton, Georgia has outstanding quickness behind the plate and good arm strength that plays really nicely behind the plate. During catching drills, Rech's best pop time was 1.84 seconds while clocking an 82 mph throw down.

Colin Koprowski  RHP - 2020 - Canton, GA
Columbus State

Koprowski most notably showed good pitchability with a fastball and curveball combination that got a lot of swings and misses. Peaking at 86 mph on the mound, he has arm strength and gets good usage of his lower half in his delivery. His curveball showed lots of depth as well and the uncommitted prospect showed lots of feel for the secondary pitch.

Ben Willcoxon  SS - 2020 - Sevierville, TN

Willcoxon really played nicely during infield drills with athletic actions and soft hands. He logged an 87 mph throw with the ability to throw from multiple arm angles. He also showed a direct compact swing that produced hard contact to all fields during his batting practice round.

Jaylen Paden  RHP - 2020 - Lilburn, GA
Georgia Southern

Not overly physical at 5-foot-9 145-pounds, but Paden has advanced arm strength especially given his size. Throwing 90 mph from his secondary outfield position and 85 mph from his primary shortstop position, Paden can really let the baseball loose. Paden has a quick release in the middle infield with hands that will play moving forward.

Jaylen Thompson  OF - 2020 - Atlanta, GA

Arm strength was the story of the weekend for the 2020 Atlanta native. From his primary first base position as well as in the infield and outfield, Thompson really shined with his arm. From each of his workout positions, 90 mph from first base was the top velocity recorded for Thompson.

Geoffrey Watkins  RHP - 2020 - Roswell, GA

Watkins is a highly projectable righthander on the mound standing at 6-foot-5 195-pounds. He pitches from a full and loose arm action that produced a fastball up to 84 mph. Watkins showcased good command of three pitches with the changeup being the best at this time. Watkins projects really well and is an interesting pitcher to follow as he continues to mature.

2021 Top Prospects

Caden Hare  RHP - 2021 - Phenix City, AL

A young a projectable pitching prospect from this weekend's Sunshine Southeast Showcase was 2021 Cade Hare. Hare topped out at 85 mph with his fastball multiple times with advanced pitchability. Coming from a full arm action, Hare was able to command the zone nicely to both sides of the plate.

Josh Pearson  OF - 2021 - West Monroe, LA
Louisiana State

Pearson really made his presence known during batting practice where he showed big time bat speed and raw pop. The rising freshman showed one of the more impressive hit tools of the entire event regardless of age and really projects with the bat and in the outfield moving forward.

Eli Runyan  LHP - 2021 - Bowdon, GA
South Alabama

Runyan is an intriguing lefthanded pitcher who topped out at 83 mph with his fastball. He is a lean and projectable pitcher with a good slider that tunnels the same plane as the fastball. The 6-foot 165-pound pitcher also took reps in the outfield and released an 86 mph throw giving a glimpse of the potential arm strength still left in the tank on the mound.

Sean Smith  1B - 2021 - Pascagoula, MS

A big built first baseman from Mississippi made the trip to Georgia and showed good tools both at the plate and at the first base position. Smith has clean actions and good balance at the corner infield position with bat speed and torque to his swing especially when pitched to the inner half.

Aries Samek  SS - 2021 - Teaneck, NJ

Making the trip to Georgia all the way from New Jersey was shortstop Aries Samek. Samek really showed advanced infield actions during drills as well as arm strength across the diamond. His best throw clocked in at 88 mph across and his 60 yard dash time logged 6.83 seconds.

Colton Cosper  LHP - 2021 - Carrollton, GA

Cosper is a lefthanded pitcher out of Carrollton High School in Georgia and possesses a fastball up to 82 mph. He is still maturing and projects nicely with plenty of room to fill in his 6-foot-1 140-pound frame. His arm works well with plenty of arm speed, a pair of good secondary offerings and high overall pitchability.

Brock Weiss  RHP - 2021 - Castle Rock, CO

A highly projectable righthanded pitcher, Weiss tosses a low-80s fastball and projects tremendously at his secondary pitching position. There is plenty of looseness to Weiss's arm with a three pitch mix for strikes. His pitchability is very advanced for his age with feel for an 11-to-5 curveball and diving changeup to accompany the fastball.

Jesse Robinson  OF - 2021 - Henrico, VA

Robinson really had an outstanding round during batting practice and his hit tool showed up in game as well. Showing lightning fast hands and big power, Robinson really is a projectable hitter and high IQ base runner as well that he showed through game action.

2022 Top Prospects

Andruw Jones  OF - 2022 - Suwanee, GA

The son of former Major Leaguer Andruw Jones really put his all-around tools on display this weekend. In batting practice, his bat speed was shown and in the outfield his arm strength and athleticism were boasted. Although he is primarily an outfielder, it is worth noting that he was also up to 82 mph on the mound as well.

Grant Aycock  RHP - 2022 - Greensboro, NC

Still a young pitcher, but already shows good stuff on the mound. At a highly projectable 6-foot-3 150-pounds, the frame has limitless room to fill. Aycock's fastball peaked at 81 mph from an arm that really works. He also showed the potential arm strength with his 84 mph toss from the outfield and 85 mph throw across the diamond during drills.

Connor Rasmussen  SS - 2022 - Fort Mill, SC
East Carolina

Rasmussen stood out in a pair of facets during the workout with his infield actions and batting practice. The middle infielder from South Carolina has fluid actions and soft hands in the infield. Rasmussen took a clean round of BP showing advanced feel for the barrel spraying line drives mainly to his pull side.

Alex Moelter  3B - 2022 - Milton, GA

Alex Moelter's best tool of the showcase was his bat. His swing is loose and has leverage to it when working to the pull side. He also showed some young projectable arm strength from his primary infield position topping out at 77 mph across the diamond.

Brody Fowler  RHP - 2022 - Taylors, SC

A very physical righthander on the mound with present strength to the still young frame. Fowler topped out at 81 mph from a full arm action with a fastball that showed varying movement. It will be interesting to see how he matures and develops moving forward with a good three pitch mix for strikes.

Maxwell Fell  LHP - 2022 - College Grove, TN

Fell is an interesting lefthander in the class of 2022 with a fastball that reached 80 mph and two offspeed pitches that show good potential. The rising freshman from Tennessee is also ultra projectable standing at 6-foot-3 185-pounds.
