2018 Top Prospects

Ryan McCurry  OF - 2018 - Solon, OH
Indiana

McCurry has a very interesting set of athletic tools, with his right handed bat probably being his best area. He also runs a 6.6 sixty and has a 90 mph throwing arm from the outfield.

William Duncan  RHP - 2018 - Richardson, TX
Sam Houston State/Grayson County College

Duncan has a nice 6-4/190 build and a loose and strong arm that produced a fastball up to 88 mph along with throwing both a curveball and slider. He also showed lots of right handed bat speed and plus power potential.

Joe Kibbe  RHP - 2018 - Katy, TX
Wharton County Junior College

Kibbe is a primary first baseman but that is likely to change in the near future. He was 86-89 mph on the mound with a loose, projectable arm and had outstanding running action on his fastball at times.

Blake Brogdon  RHP - 2018 - Cypress, TX
Rice

Brogdon is a polished right hander who is physically strong with a fairly mature body. He worked steadily in the 84-86 mph range with a sharp low 70's curveball he throws for consistent strikes. Brogdon is committed to Rice.

Julian Rojas  C - 2018 - Humble, TX
Radford/Alvin CC

Rojas was the best catching prospect at the showcase and was especially strong on defense with good quickness and a very strong throwing arm. His right handed swing is strong and fast with plenty of power potential.

Trevor Davis  3B - 2018 - Mesquite, TX
Navarro College

Davis has an extra strong and well conditioned 6-4/220 build and plenty of athleticism to go with it. He showed impressive right handed bat speed with a power approach at the plate and easily enough athleticism to play third base at the next level.

Wallace (Tre`) Jones III  OF - 2018 - Houston, TX
Texas A&M-Corpus Christi

Jones is a very good athlete who does lots of things well on the field and is going to keep getting better. He has a loose left handed swing with plenty of bat speed, shows lots of range in the outfield and was even up to 88 mph on the mound with a nice downer curveball.

Joshua Fernandez  1B - 2018 - Hondo, TX

Fernandez was one of the top hitters at the showcase, with a well timed and simple load and lots of left handed bat speed. He has some lift in his swing and showed his pull power potential very well.

Kendall Tolbert  3B - 2018 - Houston, TX
Uncommitted

Tolbert is every bit of his listed 6-3/235 but has notable looseness in all his actions for an athlete that size. His swing is especially loose and extended with big power to the middle of the field.

Bryce Crow  OF - 2018 - Mount Vernon, TX
Northeast Texas CC

Crow has a loose and projectable 6-1/170 build that has plenty of room to add strength. He's a very good outfielder, with 6.8 speed and a strong throwing arm and has a strong right handed swing with good extension through contact.

Deondre "Scooter" Adams  OF - 2018 - Hallettsville, TX

Adams is a twitchy outfielder with very good all around athleticism. He was especially impressive on defense with a combination of good speed and an outstanding throwing arm.

Arthur (AG) Yowell  RHP - 2018 - Dripping Springs, TX
Texas San Antonio

Yowell has a slender and very projectable 6-5/170 build and hasn't come close to getting strong yet. He throws up to 83 mph now with more to come in the future and has command of both his fastball and a nice curveball.


2019 Top Prospects

JJ Goss  RHP - 2019 - Cypress, TX
Texas A&M

Goss is a slender and very loose 6-2/175 build that really projects physically. He has a very fast arm that produced a consistent 88 mph fastball that topped out at 89 mph with plenty of late sink and run. It's hard to imagine him not throwing significantly harder with physical maturity.

Justin Barnes  RHP - 2019 - Spring, TX
Grayson County College

Barnes is a very good two-way prospect who was up to 89 mph from a low 3/4's arm slot that produced very good sinking life. He also threw an eye opening 94 mph from the outfield and showed prospect level bat speed at the plate.

Evan Minarovic  SS - 2019 - Spring, TX
Northwestern

Minarovic has the type of physical tools and athleticism that should keep him in the middle of the infield defensively for long time. He runs a 6.7 sixty and has a very strong throwing arm.

John Tyler 'JT' Mounce  OF - 2019 - Cypress, TX
Oklahoma State

Mounce has plus speed and ran a 6.58 sixty. He also showed some of the better bat speed at the showcase, with very quick hands from the left side of the plate.

Izzy Lopez  SS - 2019 - Fort Worth, TX
Texas A&M

Lopez was the top defensive middle infielder at the event, with mature and polished athletic actions to go with his physical tools. He has a loose and whippy swing at the plate with good bat speed from the right side.

Bryce Grizzaffi  C - 2019 - Morgan City, LA
Southeastern Louisiana

Grizzaffi stood out for his quickness and arm strength behind the plate and threw 81 mph with a 1.89 pop time in drills. He has a quick line drive swing at the plate and makes consistent hard contact.

Nicolas Gullo  SS - 2019 - Dripping Springs, TX
Lamar/San Jacinto CC

Gullo has very polished and consistent actions at shortstop and stood out in the games defensively. He also used his arm strength to throw in the mid-80's off the mound

Mathew Santos  LHP - 2019 - Houston, TX
Rice

Santos has a nice and easy low effort delivery that ensures hes' going to throw lots of strikes. He topped out at 85 mph and has the ability to spot his fastball to both sides with good life on it. His curveball is a solid second pitch with similar feel and command.

Bryce Yosko  SS - 2019 - Spring, TX
Stephen F. Austin/Northeast Texas CC

Yosko has a good balance of tools, including a very strong throwing arm and a high average right handed bat with good hand quickness. He also threw in the mid-80's off the mound and has two-way potential.

Reed Smith  RHP - 2019 - Cypress, TX
Northwestern

Smith has a young 5-10/170 build but a very strong right arm and three solid pitches on the mound. He topped out at 87 mph with his fastball and showed hard spin on a curveball up to 74 and an advanced change up he showed lots of confidence with.

Luke Broussard  3B - 2019 - Austin, TX

Broussard stands out for his 6-2/190 build and projected strength. He profiles as a third baseman with smooth defensive actions in the future and has a lots of power potential at the plate.


2020 Top Prospects

Cole Kracmer  1B - 2020 - Grand Prairie, TX
Paris Junior College

Kracmer has a very projectable 6-2/170 build and has a chance to be a strong young man in a few years. He has a smooth left handed swing with good present bat speed and handles the barrel very well for his age.

Rhett McCaffety  LHP - 2020 - Cypress, TX
Texas State

McCafferty is a polished young southpaw with nice mechanics and a mature feel for pitching. He was up to 84 mph on his fastball with good life and throws a big breaking curveball for strikes at will.

AJ Mendolia  C - 2020 - Fort Worth, TX
Central Arkansas

Mendolia is a primary shortstop at present but he looked like he could easily make the transition to catcher and excel at that position defensively. He has a quick right handed swing and squared the ball up consistently with hard line drive contact.

Daniel Garza  RHP - 2020 - Houston, TX
Texas San Antonio

Garza has a slender young middle infielder's build and very nice actions in the middle infield on defense. He's a quality two-way prospect with an 82-84 mph fastball that has lots of life to it on the mound.


2021 Top Prospects

Hunter Teplanszky  SS - 2021 - Flower Mound, TX
TCU

Teplansky has a very long and slender young build at 6-2/150 but is already an outstanding athlete. He's a switch-hitter with present bat speed from both sides of the plate that really projects well and has impressive arm strength in the field. He didn't pitch at the event but would be fun to see on the mound in the future.

Jared Moore  OF - 2021 - McGregor, TX
Uncommitted

Moore is an outstanding runner, with 6.62 speed already for a 2021 and the type of athleticism and stride that might have him running in the 6.1-6.2 range by the time he's a senior. He's extremely aggressive on the bases and like to use his speed as well.

Tyler Lee  1B - 2021 - Hallsville, TX
Texas A&M

Lee has a very athletic 6-2/180 build for a 2021 and lots of present tools that are just going to keep getting better as he matures. He has quick and active feet on defense with a loose and projectable arm and already shows bat speed at the plate.

Andrew Garcia  1B - 2021 - Corpus Christi, TX
Odessa College

Garcia has good strength for a 2021 and a solid set of hitting fundamentals from the right side. The ball comes off his barrel hard and he projects lots of power.
