9/22/2018

Ayric Robinson (2021 OF, Meridian, ID) is a strong 6-2/182 athlete for his age and he creates plenty of right handed bat speed at the plate.  He hits mostly with a pull oriented approach and looks to drive the ball hard aggressively and does.

Kai Francis (2021 RHP, Bainbridge Island, WA) is a primary pitcher with nice hitting tools to develop.  He starts with his hands low and has a short and quick swing with present bat speed that gets the ball to jump hard from gap to gap.

Estevan Ruiz (2020 OF, Pasco, WA) may have had the best round of the day if the criteria is percentage of perfectly squared up balls.  The 5-10/170 right handed hitter absolutely hammered the ball with a loose and extended swing that produced lots of power and carry.

Michael Came (2020 1B, Olympia, WA) is another hitter, this time a left handed one, who squared up the ball on virtually every swing.  Came has a line drive stroke from a very refined and repeatable set of hitting mechanics and has the strong hands that a player who takes plenty of batting practice shows.

Isaac Hines (2019 MIF, Redmond, OR) is another left handed hitter who has a polished and mature swing approach at the plate and has worked hard on his game.  He has a short and quick swing that consistently lined the ball to the middle and pull sides.

Wyatt Barajas (2019 RHP, Ketchikan, AK) is a big and strong 6-3/225 right handed hitter who has big power when he gets his arms extended.  His best contact was to right centerfield with lots of carry.

Jay Sivadas (2020 C, Bellevue, WA) needs to add some strength to his 5-11/frame but he has a swing that really projects well with additional strength.  He has some present bat speed and it's a loose and extended swing that can get the ball to jump.

Riley McCarthy (2021 C, Vancouver, WA) is extremely strong for a sophomore, with a well proportioned 6-1/205 build.  His right handed swing is short and quick with a pull/line drive swing approach.

Takeo Prather (2020 OF, Oakland, CA) has a modern uphill swing approach with the bat speed and execution to pull it off successfully.  He put the ball in the air consistently and showed his power by blasting a pair of long home runs.

Adrese Azzani (2019 1B, Orinda, CA) has a long and athletic 6-5/180 build that can add lots of strength.  He also has a smooth right handed swing that has some present bat speed with plenty more to come if he works hard on it.

Konnor Palmeira's (2020 1B, Kahului, HI) batting practice was a teaser for his game swings, which featured the hardest ball that may have ever been hit at a Northwest Showcase.  He's a big and strong 6-0/220 right handed hitter with some serious juice and strength in his bat.

Hunter Jenkins (2019 1B, Maple Valley, WA) is another hitter who carried a strong BP very well into the games and showed his tools.  The left handed hitter has bat speed and the knack for squaring the ball up to the middle of the field.

Kaiya Saito (2021 C, Bellevue, WA) needs to add strength to his slender 5-8/140 build but he has very good present swing mechanics and already quick hands to continue to improve if he does.  He squared up every ball during his round with solid mid field line drive contact.

Evan Jilbert (2020 SS, Auburn, WA) is one of the better athletes at the showcase and showed a simple and strong right handed swing with good bat speed that can improve with more lower half use.

Kyle Reese (2020 OF, Sammamish, WA) Displayed a live arm through the zone topping at 83 miles per hour. Fastball jumped out of hand producing heavy life to the bottom of the zone. Aggressively attacked hitters and looked to induce weak contact.

Javier Ramirez (2019 RHP, Bainbridge Island, WA) Showed an explosive arm action from a three-quarters slot that produced heavy run to arm side in the mid 80’s, topped at 85 miles per hour. Flashed developing feel for a changeup offering that created very good sink and deception when staying in rhythm.
