Miami Suns defeat Stealth in Championship

The Miami Suns 14U defeated the Florida Stealth 8-5, to win the 2014 14U PG Florida State Championship.

Roberto Pena (2018, Doral Academy Charter, FL) went 2-3 with two singles, and one run scored.  Ihosvany Castaneda (2017, Monsignor Edward Pace HS, FL) led the way, going 2-4 with a homerun, single, two runs and two RBIs in the contest.  Tyler Grant (2018, Gulliver Schools, FL) also went 2-3 with two singles, one run and one RBI.  Darian Oliva (2018, American Senior HS, FL) also contributed with a double.

Kevin Mauras (2018, Miami Coral Park HS, FL) pitched five innings of work, giving up three hits and struck out five.  He showed a good fastball that topped out at 81 mph, and mixed in a handful of off-speed pitches.

For the Stealth, Shelby Frazier (2018, Atlantic HS, FL) went 3-4 with three singles, and Jordan Alvarez (2018, Charles W. Flanagan HS, FL) went 1-3 with a double, and two RBIs in the game.


Tow-run Fourth lifts Miami Suns past Aces

The Miami Suns 14U grabbed two runs in the bottom of the fourth, to give them the lead, and on to the 2-1 win, over the Brevard Aces 14U.

Tyler Grant (2018, Gulliver Schools, FL) led the way for the Suns, going 2-3 with a double, single, one run and one RBI.  Roberto Pena (2018, Doral Academy Charter, FL) went 1-2 with a single, and one RBI.  Jordan Rodriguez (2018, Charles W. Flanagan HS, FL) pitched five innings, giving up six hits and struck out three, while utilizing a fastball that peaked at 74 mph, and mixed in a handful of curveballs for his off-speed pitch.

For the Aces, Joseph Johnson (2018, Merritt Island HS, FL) went 2-3 with a double and a single, and Jake Barrett (2017, Merritt Island HS, FL) went 2-3 with two doubles.  JT Santos (2017, Viera HS, FL) went 2-4 with two singles at the plate, and also pitched six innings of work. 


Stron Pitching Leads Stealth past Canes

Thanks to some strong pitching, the Florida Stealth defeated the SWFL Canes Elite, 3-2, in the semifinals of the 2014 14U PG Florida State Championship.

Ryan Wallace (2018, Park Vista Community, FL) pitched six complete innings of work, giving up just two hits and struck out one, while utilizing a fastball that topped out at 81 mph, and effectively mixing in a handful of off-speed pitches.

At the plate, Garrett Evans (2018, Apopka HS, FL) went 1-2 with a single, one run and one RBI, and Shelby Frazier (2018, Atlantic HS, FL) went 1-3 with a single and one RBI.

For the Canes, Ivan Cotto (2017, Fort Meyers HS, FL) sparked the offense, by going 2-3 with two singles, and one run.


Brevard Aces Top O-Town Select 8-1

The Brevard Aces 14U used a well rounded performance to improve their record to 3-1 in the 14U Florida State Championship in a 8-1 victory over O-Town Select. 
Chase Victor, (2018, Merritt Island, FL) was the offensive leader for the Aces, going 2-3 with two singles and three RBIs. Victor was also impressive on the mound as he pitched a complete game, only surrendering one unearned run on one hit while striking out three. Ricardo Diaz, (2018, Holy Trinity Episcopal, FL) also had a nice game offensively going 1-3 with a single and three runs scored. 
John Segrest, (2018 The First Academy, FL) led the O-Town Select offense going 1-1 with a single, a walk, a stolen base and a run scored. Carter Dahl, (2018, East Ridge, FL) pitched four innings, allowing six hits, seven unearned runs and struck out four. 

Canes Come Back to Beat Rebels 7-2

The SWFL Canes Elite overcame a 2-0 deficit to beat the Palm Beach Rebels by a score of 7-2 in the 14U Florida State Championship. 
The Canes were led offensively by Trevor Peckham, (2018, Riverdale, FL) who two hits in the game, a single and double, to go with two RBIs. Ivan Cotto, (2017, Fort Myers HS, FL) added a double and one RBI while Brandin Muniz, (2017, FL) added two RBIs. Muniz also pitched four innings for the Canes, allowing two runs on three hits while striking out two. 
Theodore Benda, (2018, Oxbridge Academy, FL) led the Palm Beach Rebels offense with an RBI double and a run scored while teammate Peyton Moon, (2018, Jupiter, FL) added an RBI single. Michael Panczak (2018, Palm Beach Gardens, FL) pitched 4.1 innings, allowing seven runs, one earned, on seven hits while striking out six. 

Miami Suns 14U Score Late in 3-1 Victory

Miami Suns 14U broke a scoreless tie in the bottom of the sixth, and scored three runs to claim a 3-1 victory over FTB55 Elite on Tuesday in Fort Myers.

Tyler Grant (2018, Gulliver Schools, FL) drove in two of the three runs for the Suns, while Henry Anthony Vilar (2018, Slam Charter School, FL), Kevin Mauras (2018, Miami Coral Park HS, FL), and Ihosvany Castaneda (2017, Monsignor Pace HS, FL) scored the runs. Grant also doubled in the win.

Nicolas Montes (2018, Life Skills Center Miami-Dade County, FL) earned the win for his one inning on the mound. His fastball topped out at 76 mph.

The lone FTB55 run was driven in by Eddie Rosado (2018, Heritage Christian School, FL) and Adam Torres (2017, Heritage Christian School, FL) scored the run. McGuire Weaver (2018, Jesuit HS, FL) added a triple in the losing effort.

Florida Stealth Explodes Late in 11-3 Victory

Florida Stealth scored at least two runs in the final three innings, and claimed an 11-3 victory over Mizuno Barracudas 14U in Fort Myers on Tuesday.

Nicholas Wells (2018, Lake Brantley HS, FL) drove in three runs with three singles to lead the Florida Stealth offense. Dane Dorsainvil (2018, Wellington, FL) drove in two runs and scored two more. Shelby Frazier (2018, Atlantic HS, FL) scored three runs, and Troy Hamilton (2018, Royal Palm Beach HS, FL) added two runs in the win.

Ryan Rivera (2018, Jensen Beach, FL) tossed a complete game for the Stealth, allowing three runs with five strikeouts. His fastball topped out at 76 mph.

Bryce Adkins (2018, North Fort Myers HS, FL) drove in two runs and singled twice for the Barracudas. Chandler Brown (2018, Braden River HS, FL) added a double in the losing effort.

SBO Florida 14U Wins 3-1

SBO Florida 14U scored three runs in the second inning, which was enough to claim a 3-1 victory over CC Lightning in Fort Myers on Tuesday.

The sole CC Lightning run was driven in by Jimmy Bergin (2018, Cape Coral HS, FL) and scored by Ryan McGovern (2018, Estero HS, FL). Julian Vazquez (2017, Cape Coral HS, FL) added a double in the losing effort.

GCBA Black Sox Scores Late to Win, 6-4

GCBA Black Sox scored two runs in the top of the sixth inning to retake the lead and claim a 6-4 victory over SWFL 14U on Tuesday in Fort Myers.

Chris Naskale drove in two runs to lead the efforts of the Black Sox. Louis Alberro (2019, Cape Coral HS, FL) drove in one run, while Matthew McDade (2018, Cape Coral HS, FL) scored twice. Daniel Caylor (2017, Riverdale HS, FL) added two hits in the victory.

Jalen Soto (2018, Cypress Lake HS, FL) was the winning pitcher, tossing 2.1 innings with four strikeouts. His fastball topped out at 75 mph.

The four SWFL runs were scored by Nick Denove (2018, Barron Collier HS, FL), Matthew Cedarburg (2018, Fort Myers HS, FL), Evan McKenna (2018, Bishop Verot HS, FL), and Joe Sagi (2018, Cape Coral HS, FL). Daniel Cunningham (2018, Canterbury School, FL) added a double in the loss.

Rebels rout the Black Sox for 2nd win

The Palm Beach Rebels defeated the GCBA Black Sox 14U by a final score of 10-0 on Monday. This win improved the Rebels record to (2-1) for the tournament thus far.

Daniel Lynch (2018, William T. Dwyer, FL) and Mitchell Hartigan (2018, Jupiter, FL) led on offense for the Rebels as they each drove in 2 RBI's. Lynch finished the game with a double and Hartigan finished with a triple. Aaron Steinhart (2018, William T. Dwyer, FL) and Peyton Moon (2018, Jupiter, FL) each were able to drive in 1 RBI as well. Keifer Wilkerson (2018, Palm Beach Gardens, FL) got on the extra base hit train as he notched a double for his lone hit of the game. Theodore Benda (2018, Oxbridge Academy, FL) was the winning pitcher for the Rebels as he tossed 5 shutout innings in a complete game effort. He allowed 4 hits and 2 walks, while striking out 6 batters.

Matthew McDade (2018, Cape Coral, FL) was perfect at the plate for the Black Sox as he finished the game 1 for 1 with a walk and a stolen base.

SWFL Canes pick up 2nd win

The SWFL Canes Elite defeated the FTB55 Elite by a final score of 5-3 on Monday. This win improved SWFL's record to (2-1) for the tournament thus far.

SWFL was led on offense by Ivan Cotto (2017, Fort Myers, FL). Cotto finished the game 2 for 2 in this game with a double and an RBI. Weston Boling (2017, Gulf Coast, FL) also finished the game with multiple hits as he went 2 for 2 as well. Chadd Heersema (2018, Gulf Coast, FL) and Blaze Alexander (2018, Bishop Verot, FL) each drove in 1 run apiece. Heersema also picked up the win on the mound. Boling was SWFL's best pitcher of the day as he pitched 4 and 1/3 innings while giving up 3 hits, 1 unearned run, and 1 walk, while striking out 3. Reliever Chris Schrowe (2017, Ida Baker, FL) sat 78-79 and topped out at 81 with his fastball.

Cole Beavin (2017, West Orange, FL) drove in the lone credited RBI for FTB55 on a 1 for 3 game. His teammate Zach Goberville (2018, Westminster Academy, FL) also finished 1 for 3 in the game, but had a triple as his lone hit.

The Miami Suns 14U team defeated the Brevard Aces 14U team by a final score of 4-1 on Monday. This win improved Miami's record to (3-0) for the tournament thus far.

Henry Anthony Villar (2018, Slam Charter, FL) led on offense for Miami by going 2 for 3 with a double. Ihosvany Castaneda (2017, Monsignor Edward Place, FL) also finished the game with 2 hits. Driving in the runs for Miami was Carlos Lara (2017, Belen Jesuit Prep, FL) and Triston Casas (2018, Florida Vertual, FL) who each drove in 1 run apiece. Roberto Pena (2018, Doral Academy Charter, FL) was the winning pitcher for Miami after he pitched a 7 inning complete game. He allowed 4 hits, 1 earned run, and 3 walks, while striking out 4.

Barracudas earn 1st win

The Mizuno Barracudas 14U defeated SBO Florida 14U by a final score of 3-1 on Monday. This win is Mizuno's first of the tournament and improves their record to (1-2).

Grant Boland (2017, Fort Myers FL) led on offense for Mizuno in this one. He finished the game 3 for 3 in this one with a double. Tate McMenamy (2018, Cypress Lake, FL) was able to knock the only other hit of the game for Mizuno. Cameron Wademan (2019, Fort Myers, FL) earned the win after pitching a 6 inning complete game. He allowed 2 hits, 1 unearned run, and 4 walks, while striking out 8 batters.

Eduardo Rosario collected 1 of 2 hits for SBO while also drawing a walk. Gabriel Lopez picked up the loss but was still nice on the mound for his 5 and 2/3 innings of work. He gave up 4 hits, 1 earned run, and 3 walks, while striking out 8.

O-Town Select rout CC Lightning

O-Town Select defeated CC Lightning by a final score of 14-1 on Monday. This win improved O-Town's record to (2-1) for the tournament thus far.

O-Town had a very balanced offensive attack in this game with multiple players driving in 2 runners. Michael Morse (2018, The First Academy, FL), Zachary Wahba (2017, West Orange, FL), Quinn Koller (2017, South Lake, FL), and Gerry Kelly (2018, East Ridge, FL) each drove in 2 RBI's for the game. Morse and Wahba each had multi-hit games as well. Carter Dahl (2018, East Ridge, FL), Jordan Walczak (2018, West Orange, FL), Alek Trowell (2018, Lake Minneola, FL), and Austin Vetter (2018, Olympia, FL) were each able to drive in 1 run apiece. Vetter's lone hit was a double. Picking up the win on the mound of O-Town was Ryan Miranda (2017, Father Lopez, FL) who pitched 4 great innings. He allowed just 2 hits, 1 earned run, and 1 walk, while striking out 7.

Spencer Roach (2018, Ida Baker, FL) and Danny Fanego (2018, Cape Coral, FL) finished with the only 2 hits of the game for the Lightning.

The Florida Stealth defeated SWFL 14U by a final score of 10-1 on Monday. This win improved the Stealth's record to (3-0) for the tournament thus far.

Shelby Fraizer (2018, Atlantic, FL) led the Stealth offense with a 1 for 2 game that included 2 walks and 3 RBI's. Travis Tritsch (2017, American Heritage, FL) was 2nd on the team in RBI's for the day as he finished 2 for 2 with a walk, a triple, and 2 RBI's. Nicholas Wells (2018, Lake Brantley, FL) had the most hits of the game for Stealth as he went 3 for 3 with an RBI and a walk. Also with a multi-hit game was Ryan Rivera (2018, Jensen Beach, FL) who went 2 for 3 with an RBI and a walk. The winning pitcher was Justin Anglin (2018, Santaluces Community, FL) who pitched 4 innings and giving up just 1 hit, while striking out 2 batters.

SWFL's offense was led by Matthew Harvel (2018, Island Coast, FL) who went 1 for 2 and drove in their lone RBI.

SWFL 14U tops CC Lightning in back-and-forth, 7-5. SWFL 14U was led by a flawless day at the dish by Drew Lewis (Undecided, Fort Myers, FL 2018), who went 1-1 against the CC Lightning's pitching. He singled in the sixth inning. The lead was SWFL 14U's to lose after sixth inning. More runs came home on an RBI single by Lewis.

Manny Cheatham (Undecided, Cape Coral, FL 2019) was the ace pitcher for CC Lightning. He tossed three innings worth while giving up three hits, two runs, walking two and striking four. Weston Perry (Fort Myers, Fort Myers, FL 2018) was the ace pitcher for SWFL 14U. He tossed 5.1 innings worth while giving up five hits, three runs, walking three and striking out three.

Florida Stealth beats O-Town Select 6-3. Shelby Frazier (Atlantic, Boynton, Beach, FL 2018) went 2-2, sparking Florida Stealth to a 6-3 victory in seven innings. He singled in the first inning and tripled in the fifth inning. The lead stayed with Florida Stealth after the first, when it scored one run on an RBI single by Frazier.

Hankim Williams (Undecided, Lake Worth, FL 2018) got the win for Florida Stealth. He allowed two runs over four innings with striking out five, walked three and surrendered four hits. Zachary Wahba (West Orange, Windermere, FL 2017) was charged with the loss. He lasted just 2 1/3 innings, walked six, struck out two and allowed three runs.

SWFL Canes Elite seize victory thanks to late, drop GCBA Black Sox 14U 4-3. Blaze Alexander (Bishop Verot, Cape Coral, FL 2018) went a perfect 2-2 at the dish for SWFL Canes Elite. He singled in the first and fifth innings. Daniel Caylor (Riverdale, Fort Myers, FL 2017) was the hot hitter for GCBA Black Sox 14U. He went 1-3 for the game.

John Dwyer (Bishop Verot, Fort Myers, FL 2017) got it done on the hill on the way to a win. He allowed three runs over 3 2/3 innings with striking out three, walked four and surrendered no hits. Matthew McDade (Cape Coral, Fort Myers, FL 2018) was the ace pitcher for GCBA Black Sox 14U. He tossed two innings worth while giving up two hits, two runs, walking one and striking out four.

FTB55 Elite seize victory thanks to late error, drop Palm Beach Rebels 8-4. Zach Goberville (Westminister Academy, Pompano Beach, FL 2018) was hot from the plate for FTB55 Elite. He went 2-3 and scored two runs with a single in the second and third innings.

Cole Beavin (West Orange, Ocoee, FL 2017) shut down Palm Beach Rebels while he was on the bump. Palm Beach Rebels managed just one hit off of the FTB55 Elite's pitcher. He allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three during his two innings of work. Ethan Wilkerson (Palm Beach Gardens, Palm Beach Gardens, FL 2018) was the ace pitcher for Palm Beach Rebels. He tossed three innings worth while giving up five hits, seven runs, walking four and striking out one.

The Brevard Aces 14U top Mizuno Barracudas 14U in back-and-forth affair, 6-3. Andrew Brait (Viera, Melbourne, FL 2019) racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Brevard Aces 14U. He singled in the second inning. Grant Boland (Fort Myers, Fort Myers, FL 2017) had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He doubled in the first and fourth innings.

JT Santos (Viera, Viera, FL 2017) brought the heat against Mizuno Barracudas 14U during his outing. Mizuno Barracudas 14U managed just one hit off of Santos. He allowed no eared runs, walked one and struck out one during his three innings of work. Chris Wendel (North Fort Myers, Fort Myers, FL 2019) couldn't get it done on the bump for Mizuno Barracudas 14U, with getting the loss. He lasted just three innings, walked two, struck out four, and allowed three runs.

Miami Suns 14U jumps on SBO Florida 14U early and coasts to 14-3 win. The game was decided quickly as Miami Suns 14U exerted its will early with fourteen runs in the first three innings. Henry Anthony Villar (Slam Charter, Miami, FL 2018) racked up five RBIs on two hits for Miami Suns 14U. Rodriguez got on base two times in the game for SBO Florida 14U. He singled in the first inning.

Michael Diaz (American Senior, Miami Lakes, FL 2017) got the win for Miami Suns 14U. He allowed three runs over four innings with striking out five, walked two and surrendered five hits. Calderon lasted 1 1/3 innings on the mound for SBO Florida 14U before being taken out. He surrendered one hit and six runs.

Brevard Aces offense too Much in blowout

The Brevard Aces 14U offense was too much, as they grabbed the blowout win, defeating SBO Florida 14U, 14-1.

Ricardo Diaz (2018, Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy, FL) led the way, going 2-3 with a double, three runs, and one RBI in the game.  JT Santos (2017, Viera HS, FL) went 2-3 as well, with two singles, three runs, and two RBIs.  Jake Barrett (2017, Merritt Island HS, FL) went 1-3 with a single, two runs and two RBIs.  Thomas Berry (2018, Rockledge Senior HS, FL) also contributed with a double in the contest.

David Christiano (2019 ,Satellite Senior HS, FL) pitched a complete game, giving up one earned run on two hits, and struck out two, in four complete innings of work.

For SBO, Duchesne went 1-1 with a single and a run scored.


Seven-run third Lifts Suns to Victory

A seven-run third inning sparked the Miami Suns 14U offense, as they went on to defeat the Mizuno Barracudas 14U, in convincing fashion, 13-2.

Henry Anthony Vilar (2018, Slam Charter, FL) went 2-4 with two singles, one run and one RBI.  Triston Casas (2018, Florida Vertual, FL) went 2-3 with two singles, two runs scored and one RBI.  Roberto Pena (2018, Doral Academy Charter, FL) went 1-2 with a single, two runs and two RBIs in the game.

Early Lead Gives FTB55 Elite Easy Win

FTB55 Elite jumps out to an early lead, and went on to defeat the GCBA Black Sox 14U, 11-3.

McGuire Weaver (2018, Jesuit HS, FL) went a perfect 3-3 with a double, two singles, three runs and three RBIs in the game.  Cole Beavin (2017, West Orange HS, FL) went 1-2 with a double, and one run scored.  Adam Torres (2017, Heritage Christian HS, FL) went 1-2 as well, with a single, one run and two RBIs.

For the Black Sox Shane Marshall (2018, Gulf Coast HS, FL) went 1-2 with a single, one run and one RBI.  Carson Smith (2018, Dunbar HS, FL) went 1-3 with a single and one run scored as well.


Palm Beach Rebels Claims 4-1 Victory

Palm Beach Rebels allowed just two hits, and claimed a 4-1 victory over SWFL Canes Elite on Saturday.

The four Rebels runs were driven in by Aaron Steinhart (2018, Dwyer HS, FL), Keifer Wilkerson (2018, Palm Beach Gardens HS, FL), Mitchell Hartigan (2018, Jupiter HS, FL), and Zachary Fusco (2018, Jupiter HS, FL). Ruairi Murphy (2018, Jupiter HS, FL) added a pair of singles in the victory.

Wilkerson did not allow an earned run over 5.2 innings, and struck out five hitters. His fastball topped out at 80 mph.

Chris Schrowe (2017, Ida Baker HS, FL) drove in the sole run for the Canes, and also added a hit. Ivan Cotto (2017, Fort Myers HS, FL) scored the run, while Brandin Muniz (2017, North Port, FL) added the other hit in the losing effort.

O-Town Select Rolls to 9-0 Victory

O-Town Select scored in the final five innings, and only allowed one hit in a 9-0 victory over SWFL 14U.

Michael Morse (2018, The First Academy, FL) drove in two runs with two hits and a run scored, while Jarrett Riffle (2017, South Lake HS, FL) drove in one run with a pair of singles. Carter Dahl (2018, East Ridge HS, FL) added two singles, and Jordan Walczak (2018, West Orange HS, FL) and Quinn Koller (2017, South Lake HS, FL) each scored two runs in the win.

Gerry Kelly (2018, East Ridge HS, FL) allowed just one hit over 4.2 innings, striking out two hitters. His fastball topped out at 71 mph.

The sole SWFL 14U hit was a single recorded by Joe Sagi (2018, Cape Coral HS, FL).

Stealth Cruise, Get Combined No-Hitter

Florida Stealth scored in each of the first three innings, and had two pitchers combined on a four-inning no-hitter in a 14-0 victory over CC Lightning on Saturday.

Dane Dorsainvil (2018, Wellington, FL), Ryan Wallace (2018, Park Vista Community HS, FL), Nicholas Wells (2018, Lake Brantley HS, FL), and Matthew Restivo (2018, Atlantic HS, FL) each drove in two runs for the Stealth. Dorsainvil led the team with three hits, including a double. He and Shelby Frazier (2018, Atlantic HS, FL) scored three runs in the victory.

Cade Tierney (2018, Boca Raton Community HS, FL) and Justin Anglin (2018, Santaluces Community HS, FL) each tossed two innings in the no-hitter. Anglin struck out two hitters, and his fastball topped out at 70 mph. Tierney’s fastball peaked at 75 mph.
