7-Gold vs. 9-Purple Highlights

1/17/2021

Joseph Cordoba (2021 C, Kissimmee, FL) had the hardest hit of the day on his line drive single up the middle. Cordoba squared up a pitch on the outer third of the plate for a rocket single into center. He also has impressive skills defensively behind the plate.

Clay Clarke (2021 SS, Alexandria, VA) has a compact swing with good hip fire. He singled to right field a pair of times in this game showing good bat to ball skills.

Brandon Paez (2021 3B, Miami, FL) was up with the bases loaded in this game. He produced a pair of RBI for his team with a knock to left field.

Garett Corkhill (2022 LHP, Alva, FL) struck out five hitters with a fastball, curveball combination of pitches. The local lefty was up to 83 mph with his fastball and featured a working arm and tough angle.

8-Orange vs. 9-Purple Highlights

1/17/2021

Dylan Wolff (2021 RHP, Fort Myers, FL) topped out at 86 mph with his fastball while also featuring a good slider. Wolff has a very loose arm, room to fill in his frame and plenty more potential velocity to come.

Kay-Lan Nicasia (2021 SS, Miami, FL) was a standout on the field all weekend. His arm strength stands out both in the infield and outfield. Nicasia made a very tough play at third base look easy and took a pitch the other way with a fluid swing.

7-Gold vs. 8-Orange Highlights

1/17/2021

Kaleb Lore (2021 RHP, Apple Valley, CA) proved that he is not just a primary pitcher but can handle the barrel too. His level swing produced a loud, squared double to the pull side gap for an RBI.

Garett Corkhill (2022 LHP, Alva, FL) made his debut at the event in a big way. He went the other way in both at-bats and found green in his second for a double down the right field line.

Jason Torres (2021 SS, Warwick, NY) scored a run and hit a single the opposite way in the contest. Torres added a steal and made a diving play defensively at second base.

Brandon Paez (2021 3B, Miami, FL) featured the best breaking ball of the day. He also was up to 83 mph as a secondary pitcher with good command of the strike zone.

Jeffrey A Lopez (2021 3B, Aibonito, PR) had a pair of hits, both being for extra bases in this one. The first was a loud double to left-center field while the second was an oppo double down the left field line.

Brady Templeton (2021 OF, Bellevue, IA) is a really good runner. He barreled a single up the middle from his compact swing. His 6.8 60 speed showed up in the game as he gets down the line well and is disruptive on the base paths.

8-Orange vs. 9-Purple Highlights

1/16/2021

Diego Melendez (2021 C, Toa Alta, PR) took an outer half pitch down the pull side line for a double. His plate coverage and barrel feel were displayed in his at-bat.

Kaleb Lore (2021 RHP, Apple Valley, CA) is an intriguing right-handed arm up to 83 mph. His frame has plenty of room to fill with added strength and with it could come more velocity. He pitched from a high arm slot creating a downhill plane to his fastball and 11-5 shape to his curveball.

James Porter (2021 3B, Bradenton, FL) smoked a single through the pull side. Porter has mature bat on ball skills with a heavy barrel thorugh the zone and did not miss the pitch he was given in this look.

Kristian Crespo (2021 C, Vega Baja, PR) leveraged a baseball for a loud extra base hit to the left-center field gap. Crespo gets spread out with his swing and drove the baseball well from his wrist strength.

Jonathan Griffith (2021 C, Magnolia, TX) sat back on a breaking ball in his first at-bat for a single up the middle. He followed that up with an infield knock down the left side. Griffith has an inside hand path to the baseball with good hand-eye in the box.

Brentt Olmo Lucero (2021 OF, Arecibo, PR) hopped on the mound and struck out the side with a fastball up to 80 mph after hitting the best round of batting practice. Lucero had a great day showing athleticism in the outfield, angle to his pitches and a loose, efficient swing.

Dylan Odud (2021 SS, Marlton, NJ) ripped a double down the line. He got extended on the swing and did a great job of keeping the ball fair down the pull side.

7-Gold vs. 8-Orange Highlights

1/16/2021

Clay Clarke (2021 SS, Alexandria, VA) hit a loud double in his team's second game of the day. Clarke displayed quickness to his hands and a long finish through the baseball.

José Zayas (2021 RHP, Kissimmee, FL) topped out at 85 mph and used his three pitch mixture to strike out 8 batters. Zayas creates a tough angle from his 3/4 arm slot with effectiveness to pitch to both halves of the plate.

Chris Mastandrea (2021 SS, Middletown, NY) barreled the ball in his second at-bat in this game. Mastandrea collected a hit on a lifted ball to center field using his strength in his wrists to find a hole.

7-Gold vs. 9-Purple Highlights

1/16/2021

Christian Del Campo (2022 C, Tampa, FL) came in firing the best velocity we saw today up to 86 mph with his fastball. He featured a three pitch mixture with a feel for the zone with all three. He located well both to the glove side and up in the zone.

Alandas Armistad (2021 OF, Wesson, MS) put a compact and simple swing on the baseball for a 2 RBI single to left-center field. He showcased quick hands in the box getting the barrel to the ball on time.

Christian Gonzalez (2021 3B, Houston, TX) put a good swing on the baseball for a loud single to right-center field. Gonzalez has a compact and simple swing in the box.

Ronan-Luke Nuqui (2021 RHP, Fontana, CA) struck out six batters in his four inning starts. He also hit a double in the contest over the left fielder’s head. Nuqui impacted the ball out front with leverage to his swing.

Sean Corcoran (2021 1B, Bristow, VA) sat back on a hanging curveball and drove it well to the opposite field. Corcoran has a professional body to project upon, fast hands and plenty of power in his swing.

Joseph Cordoba (2021 C, Kissimmee, FL) knocked a pair of hits today and also featured the best defensive skillset behind the plate in drills. Cordoba has great catch-and-throw skills while displaying a flexible ability to block the baseball.

Batting Practice Highlights

1/16/2021

Jose M Colon (2021 OF, Salinas, PR) stands in the box with a slightly open stance and a high hand set. His all fields approach at the plate stood out with looseness to his hands and his great feel for the barrel.

Anthony Y Rivera Rivera (2021 3B, Comerio, PR) uses a toe tap trigger and a level swing plane through the hitting zone. Rivera took one of the better rounds of the day spraying the ball to all parts of the field.

Max Colina Beckman (2021 OF, Homestead, FL) has an athletic frame and a positive swing. The bat stays through the hitting zone with good extension and separation.

Brentt Olmo Lucero (2021 OF, Arecibo, PR) creates some jump with lift to his swing path. He put together the top BP round of the day with his pull approach and leverage to his path.

Isaias Villarreal (2021 SS, Allen Park, MI) displayed an all fields approach from his crouched stance and leg lif trigger. He gets spread out at the plate with a feel for the barrel.

Sean Corcoran (2021 1B, Bristow, VA) hit the lone ball out of the yard as the wind blew in at Clemente Field. Corcoran lifts the ball well and the ball really jumps off of his barrel as he has a compact swing with fast hands.

James Porter (2021 3B, Bradenton, FL) sets up at the plate with an open stance and takes a short leg lift trigger into contact. His drove the ball with strength in his swing especially to the pull side alley.

Nathan Saavedra (2021 OF, South Lyon, MI) showcased good hand speed at the plate with jump off of his barrel when squared up. There’s a full path to his swing with a cut off finish, but the round flashed really promising potential in the box.
