4-Maroon vs 5-Red Game Highlights

Matt Borges (2022 C, San Pedro, CA) Doubled sharply down the left field line in his first at-bat. The 2022 grad displayed good bat speed through the zone with solid barrel whip.

Irving Norwood Ill (2021 SS, Los Angeles, CA) The Los Angeles native displayed good strength at contact with the ability to generate tight back spin off the barrel to the gap when squared. Hammered a double to straight away left field in his first at-bat.

Nicholas Day (2020 RHP, Arcadia, CA) Showed good feel for the barrel at the plate. Dropped barrel head to a pitch located down in the zone well, singling sharply on a line to center field.

Ben Lee (2022 C, Santa Monica, CA) Lee showed the hand speed to turn the barrel with intent to baseball and created loud, hard contact. Singled sharply to left field and later tripled to deep left field.

Alexander Marquez (2020 OF, West Covina, CA) Displayed good bat speed with strength at contact. Stays balanced throughout and generated solid backspin off to barrel on a triple in his last at-bat of the game.

Michael Ebner (2022 3B, South Pasadena, CA) Showed good feel for the barrel with the ability to work to all fields. Also showed strength in his swing doubling down the opposite field line in his last at-bat. The 2022 grad was also impressive on the mound utilizing a heavy fastball that jumped on hitters in the lower 80's, topped at 83 mph. Ebner worked two scoreless innings striking out five batters.

Pablo Hernandez (2021 RHP, La Puente, CA) Showed good plate discipline at the plate with a balance approach. Singled sharply to the opposite field gap going with the pitch located on the outer third of the plate.

Travis Royal (2022 2B, Arroyo Grande, CA) Collected a RBI single in his first at-bat of the game showing a smooth, fluid barrel plane through extension.

Aundruw Sweet (2020 RHP, Eastvale, CA) The two way prospect continued to impress at the plate today hammering a sharp double down the left field line in his second at-bat. Sweet displays impressive bat speed and looks to attack the baseball with intent.

Travis Royal (2022 2B, Arroyo Grande, CA) Showed good feel for the barrel with the ability to work to all fields. Doubled to the opposite field showing good speed on the bases.

Nicholas Day (2020 RHP, Arcadia, CA) Posted three scoreless innings displayed a heavy fastball that had good life through the one in the low to mid 80's, topped at 86 miles per hour. Day also showed good feel for a slider and changeup in the mid 70's. The 2020 grad struck out six batters over his three innings of work.

Dylan Long (2021 C, Whittier, CA) The 2021 grad shows a mature, balanced approach at the plate with present strength. Collected two hits including a very loud triple to deep center field.

Samuel Garcia (2020 1B, Wilmington, NC) Garcia was impressive on the mound featuring a fastball that generated good downhill plane in the low to mid 80's, topped at 84 mph.The North Carolina native also kept hitters of balance with a changeup offering that produced late fade to glove side.

Magnus Dunn (2020 OF, Ellicott City, MD) The 2020 grad showed good feel for the barrel and consistently created hard contact. Collected two opposite field singles in game action. Also was impressive on the mound flashing a fastball that had good jump through the zone in the low to mid 80's, topped at 84 mph. Changed speed with a sweeping slider in the mid 70's.

Nathaniel Garcia (2020 SS, Claremont, CA) The Claremont native displayed good upside on the mound showing a live arm with a heavy fastball that topped at 84 mph. Garcia consistently induced weak contact throughout each inning of work completely two scoreless innings while allowing just one hit.

Colby Canales (2020 3B, Orange, CA) The 2020 third baseman pick up an RBI single in his first at-bat of the day showing the ability to turn the barrel aggressively and produced loud, hard contact to pull side.

Hopper Rowe (2020 RHP, Los Angeles, CA) Works contact to all fields with a level bat path staying on plane well. Collected a couple of singles throughout the games and consistently found the barrel.

Amartya Eswaran-King (2020 OF, Washington, DC) Really swings the bat well with a mature approach. Shows strength in the hands and the ability to drive the ball well to all fields. Tripled early in the day and drove a ball to the fence to the opposite field that was caught. Also showed a good presence on the mound with solid arm strength running the fastball up to 84 MPH.

Nicholas Day (2020 RHP, Arcadia, CA) Was on base more often than not. Controls the barrel well and can hit pitches in any quadrant of the zone. Shows quick hands that allow him to wait on pitches and show off his recognition at the plate. 

Jonluke Goldman (2020 C, Sierra Madre, CA) Works the count well and is aggressive when getting a pitch to drive. Strength in barrel that allows him to elevate the baseball and create solid lift and carry off the bat. 

Reed Schaefer (2021 LHP, Las Vegas, NV) Really projectable lefthanded pitcher on the mound creating good angle to the plate on the fastball topping out at 85 MPH. Worked three shutout innings allowing just a single base hit and striking out six batters.

Andrew Baughn (2020 RHP, Las Vegas, NV) Made quick work in his three innings allowing just a single baserunner while striking out five hitters. Works the fastball up to 85 MPH from the right side. Creates hard natural cut on the fastball pairing well with a sharp breaking ball.

Nicholas Naccarato (2020 OF, Carlsbad, CA) Athletic player showing good speed out of the box and around the bases. Nabbed a couple of stolen bases in the game as well as showing a fluid stroke at the plate collecting a couple of line drive base hits.

Aundruw Sweet (2020 RHP, Eastvale, CA) Was very good on the mound for three innings allowing just a single hit. Heavy life through the zone on the fastball topping out at 86 MPH and showing feel for the edge of the zone. Also mixed in a solid changeup with depth to the pitch. Also performed well with the bat as he drove a ball to the deep part of left field for a two-run homerun.

Ethan Royal (2021 OF, Arroyo Grande, CA) Really turned on a ball in the middle innings for a double down the left field line. Keeps the hands tight with a quickness through the zone. Turns the barrel well out in front of the plate.

Patrick Morris (2021 LHP, Gilbert, AZ) Was very effective through four innings of work allowing no hits. Commanded the zone really well with his fastball in the mid-70's. Can add and subtract to the pitch as well. Over his four innings he was able to accumulate eight strikeouts.

Colby Canales (2020 3B, Orange, CA) Athletic player with present strength throughout. Worked from a wide stance and utilizing a simple toe tap trigger to stay on time consistently. Longer path into contact staying on plane with the ball for an extended period of time. Shows fluidity with a direct path to contact looking to pull the ball and creating jump to the gap through a naturally leveraged bat path.

Bada Kim (2021 C, La Cresenta, CA) Utilizes rotational actions into contact looking to work the barrel head out in front and drive the ball to the gaps. Line drive plane through the zone with an athletic ability to repeat mechanics in the box. Shows feel for the barrel with a more contact-oriented approach to hitting.

Jack Scrofano (2021 OF, Corona, CA) Fluid actions in the box with an easy amount of repeatability. High amount of barrel speed through the zone on a naturally lifted bat path. Creates linear drift into contact and driving hard off the backside.

Samuel Garcia (2020 1B, Wilmington, NC) Large frame in the box with present strength throughout. Uses his lower half strength well with good rotational and torque from the lower half. Impacts the baseball with hard and loud jump with consistency looking to create elevation to all fields.

Travis Royal (2022 2B, Arroyo Grande, CA) Quick actions with a simple swing and a direct hand path to the baseball. Can works line drive contact to all fields swinging with intent on a fluid, line drive plane through the zone. Repeats mechanics well and has an idea with turning the barrel out in front.

Aundruw Sweet (2020 RHP, Eastvale, CA) One of the better rounds of the day showing a pure power approach and a natural ability to get the ball into the air. Swings the bat with the intent to do damage and consistently drove the ball to the deep parts of the field. Creates barrel speed through the zone while staying compact to the baseball.

Ian Guthrie (2020 C, Austin, TX) Compact path to contact showing rotational actions and the ability to turn on the baseball with authority. Gets the barrel head through the zone and turns the bat well. Works mostly to the middle of the field with the ability to use the whole field without sacrificing any power.

Davis Hodges (2022 LHP, Kennesaw, GA) Very fluid stroke through the zone on a naturally lifted barrel plane. Combines a strong ability to control the barrel with his present strength throughout to show a high contact approach while driving the ball well to the gaps. Works to elevate the baseball when squared up.

Magnus Dunn (2020 OF, Ellicott City, MD) Hands start forward and really transfers the weight onto the backside during the load. Swings with intent and getting into a rhythm early on. Best contact comes when working out in front and to the pull side really impacting the baseball.

Nicholas Day (2020 RHP, Arcadia, CA) High amount of jump off the barrel through a hard and quick swing path. Middle of the field approach with a consistent round of batting practice. Varies the amount of jump off the barrel but can really create carry when able to work to the pull side, but consistently squared up the ball.

Erik Brown (2020 OF, Fresno, CA) Creates bat speed through the zone with strength in the hands at the point of contact. Controls the barrel well with a middle of the field to pull side approach. Consistently drive the ball on a line. Very solid round overall.
