Program History

In 2001, Andy Partin began to turn his vision into reality when he launched Impact Baseball, Inc.  As the owner and founder, he set out to build a baseball program that would become one of the most successful and recognizable in the nation.  An innovator in the industry, he began to promote high school players through an online presence and on-field showcase events to expose them to college and professional scouts.  A year later, in 2002, he led the first-ever Dirtbags team onto the diamond and his machine was off and running.  Well known for fielding teams with high-end talent, they also pride themselves in playing the game the right way and of course, in 2006, showed the world something it had never seen before when they took the field in their camo uniforms.

Since that time, the Dirtbags have seen over 1,400 alumni move on to play baseball at the collegiate level.  Even more impressive is the fact that they have had 259 former players be selected in the MLB Draft with a total of 32 ascending to the Big Leagues.  World Series MVP Madison Bumgarner was drafted in the 1st round in 2007 and AL Rookie of the Year Wil Myers was a 3rd round pick in 2009.  The Seager Brothers also donned the Dirtbag uniform with Gold Glover Kyle Seager getting drafted in the 3rd round in 2009 and World Series MVP Corey Seager going off the board in the 1st round in 2012.

To date, the Dirtbags have taken home World Wood Bat Association Championships in 2010 and 2016.  They have also won 8 Impact World Series titles and added in two WWBA Runner-Up finishes.

Scouting Highlights

Everyone knows when the Dirtbags are on the schedule, you’re most likely going to see a new-age uniform unlike any before and that resonates well with the players.  However, to the scouts and baseball purists, they know they are going to see an aggressive, hard-nose version of baseball that pays homage to the game’s long traditions.  With the expectations that Andy Partin and Trey Daly set for their players, the Dirtbags have long been a go-to for college recruiters.  The security of knowing that you will be getting a player that is not only talented, but understands the game and does not shy away from expectations is a luxury for those in charge of building a roster.  Very few organizations put teams on the field with the balance and consistency the Dirtbags do year-after-year.  Offensively, they always seem to have plenty of speed at the top and bottom of the lineup with scary power in the middle.  They put pressure on opponents with the stolen base and always taking the extra bag when possible, or sometimes just running in the face of the opposing defense.  Runs typically come in bunches when the table-setters fill the bases for the run producers, as they bludgeon balls through the gaps and often out of the park.  The stock of arms is always deep with plenty of quality and variety and great ability to match up with the other teams’ lineups.  High-level velocity and abrupt swing-and-miss breakers are what you anticipate on the mound and typically get.  Put all that together with fundamentally sound and difference-making defenders and getting a win is a daunting task for those not wearing the camo.  The 2023 class looks like a special group for the Dirtbags with TayShaun Walton leading the charge.  The ’24, ’25 and ’26 teams are coming together nicely as well, leaving no doubt that the Dirtbags will continue to be a marquee organization for the foreseeable future. -Craig Cozart
