If there’s a theme to be noted in this draft class, aside from the depth of high school pitching, you can’t help but point to the stockpile of lefthanded college sluggers. As we’ve noted before, and we’ll make note of it again, there is still a lack of premium position hitters, but there’s no shortage whatsoever if you’re looking to draft a good old fashioned lefty masher. If you can’t land Kyle Schwarber, then you could turn to Casey Gillaspie (a switch hitter) or A.J. Reed. Then, of course, there is the lefty slugger with perhaps the best track record of them all, Michael Conforto.
